Reception Activities

Hello!

What are some fun activities to do during the reception? I've looked on Pinterest, but would like to see if anyone else has any other cool activities!

Most people do games now that there's not really dancing permitted or recommended.

a lot of people have a photobooth also

If there's no dancing, people mingle

You could do a trivia game, where you put together trivia questions about you and your fiance, or about wedding traditions, or about wedding movies, etc, and give out prizes to whoever scores the most points! You could also do the shoe game, lawn/yard games, board/card games, photo booth, etc.

If you are using a wedding hashtag you can do an iSpy game. I saw this a while back and thought it was pretty neat. You can print it out on the back of menu cards or even their own little card and list things for people to snap a pic of and post to your hashtag. Reception Activities 1

You can play the shoe game, some trivia games, people can just mingle with others, you could hire entertainment or include a photo booth

We had a photo booth that I believe every single guest at our wedding used. We also played a trivia game.

Eat, drink, and dance. I do love a good photo booth though! We had one and it was a blast. Those are the only activities I expect or want to see at a reception.

Photo booths are a great hit at weddings. You can either rent one, or DIY it.

Most of the wedding's we've been to had cornhole boards and those had a steady group of people around playing all night. You could also do horseshoes along with the cornhole boards!

The I SPY game listed in PP is also a great and fun idea! Trivia games with trivia about the couple are cute and fun too!

We are doing games, we have cornhole, jumbo Jenga, jumbo Connect 4, jumbo tic tac toe and an inflatable bowling game. FH also wants to set up a wii so people can play Mario party. I’ve also been to a wedding who hired people to do a murder mystery at their wedding. It was different, but fun.

A murder mystery? That's actually pretty freaking cool haha I live the idea of jumbo games especially since there's gonna be a lot of younger children at our wedding. Thanks for the ideas Allie!

The only thing we had at our wedding was corn-hole that was set up out-side in our ceremony space after the reception started, per my husband's request, lol. Honestly, only a couple of people played it - my husband didn't even go out and play it. Most of our guests stayed on the dance floor all night and those who did not dance mingled. The only reason I wasn't upset about the corn-hole that no one used is because we used our own sets and didn't rent them lol.
