Hi!! So like many of you our wedding plans have changed a couple times due to COVID. we were originally supposed to get married 5/16/2020 and postponed to 8/4/2020. We think we would be more comfortable just doing a small ceremony on 8/4 (parents, siblings, wedding party) and live streaming it to our original 150 guest list. Both my parents are immunocompromised and I would rather keep them safe than risk having a huge party (even if it’s allowed by then)

We still want to party with all of our original guests but want to make sure we are out of the woods for COVID and are considering doing a big party/reception on our 1 year anniversary 8/4/2021.
We were thinking we could play a bit of the wedding video and just do dinner, drinks and dancing.
Thoughts? What would you like to see if you were a guest? Would you go?

I would totally attend that!
Completely understand your concern for your parents' safety, and having a big party a year later sounds great. We'll all want something to celebrate next year.

I would definitely attend! I think replaying bits of the video is such a sweet idea! You could also do a vow renewal ceremony if you wanted the live experience of a ceremony in front of everyone. Would you do a first dance/parent dances? Would you ask the wedding party to be a part of it again, too?

I would definitely attend! One of my close friends is doing something similar. I think especially given the current circumstances, guests will be completely understanding and will be excited to attend the 1 year anniversary celebration. That will likely become the new normal for many 2020 weddings. I also love your idea of including part of your wedding video! Not only will that make it extra special for your guests, but you and your fiance will get to relive that day surrounded by all of your favorite people.
