Reception (2nd) Dress...

Hi all - just wondering if any brides are changing into a second dress for the reception. I'm considering it but don't want to totally outshine my actual wedding dress. What options are you looking to change into? Jumpsuit, short or long dress?

This is my ceremony dress and this is my reception dress. Not sure what part of the night I will change. Going to decide that this weekend. I still need to buy shapewear for the second one

I'm having a beautiful ball gown skirt over my dress for the ceremony and taking it off to show off the full mermaid dress for the reception!

I'm so in love with my wedding dress that I can't imagine taking it off after such a short time! (After trying on other dresses and absolutely hating them and wanting to be back into my dress immediately, I honestly can't imagine even finding a reception dress that I'd be happy with.)

That being said, I think the idea of changing into a reception dress definitely works for some outfits/themes/venues. Smiley heart Whatever you're comfortable with! You'd also have plenty of pictures in both, but I don't think the wedding dress would be overshadowed at all.

That's what I paid and I was thinking the same way! But then I thought I do not want to be in all that dress all night!

I bought a detachable overskirt so that I could wear it walking the aisle and transform to my mermaid look at the reception.

That thought is also in my head too 😂😂😂. I’ll be like that kid that lives in his/her Halloween costume for a week straight!

With the cost of wedding dresses, I'm wearing mine all day and probably for Halloween that year before I turn it into a craft project! I'm getting my money's worth in wearing it! lol

I’m buying a dress to wear when we go out after our reception with our bridal party and whoever else wants to join. So basically an after party dress. It won’t be anything super expensive but something fun and pretty.

I expect our ceremony will be quite short so the bulk of our day will be the reception. I can’t imagine spending all that time and money on a dress and not even wearing it one day. But I definitely understand wanting to wear something you’re comfortable in and if it’s your dream to have two dresses you should go for it!

I only get to wear this dress once, and I have no intentions on getting a second dress I can only wear once for the same night. Lol
