Reception 1st look

Tiffany, on February 9, 2020 at 10:20 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 13
Trying to decide if I want to do a “First Look” for the reception. Do you all plan on being surprised with your reception decors or are you going to give it an overview before things start?

Definitely an overview! I’m too picky to let someone else decorate it! Lol

Yeah I did samples of how I'd want my guest sign in table and centerpieces to look

I need to see the room before my guests! My anxiety won't allow me to be but too surprised.

I’m definitely going to do an overview before the guests arrive as I would love to have everything ready! And as how I have imagined it for our big dayN!

So I have opted out of doing a 1st look, lol!!!! You all have made it clear to the point that a 1st look is just too risky for the day of your dreams. Thanks everyone

I want to do samples of everything!! I can already visualize most of my details. I just hope I can find a vendor that doesn’t mind getting tons of input from their client..

My wedding planner knows how i expect it to be so basically we both will be looking it over...i have too. I dont want to be surpised at all. That alone can mess up my day if I didn't review my decor.

I'm decorating myself for the reception, but if I wasn't I'd 100% say to do a first look for your reception. That way if there is anything you do not like, you have time to get it fixed before guests come in.

I made my own centerpieces so i knew what it was going to look like lol plus i had to make sure they put them together properly. Although i did pay a decorator for the ceremony area and they brought stuff in from the outside and placed it in the reception area. it looked really nice. as long as you make it clear what you are looking for and they have good reviews i'm sure they will do a wonderful job!

My venue is allowing me and those helping me to decorate the day of our rehearsal. Our rehearsal is at 4pm and the venue is letting me in at 12pm. If I need more time, I'm allowed to finish after the rehearsal but if I go past 6pm I have to pay an "out of business hour fee" of $125 an hour. I already know how I want the tables to look and where the decorations will go so it shouldn't take me longer than 2-3 hours to get everything in place with all of the help I'm going to have.

I saw it beforehand. I wanted to make sure nothing needed to be tweaked before the reception started!
