Receiving my wedding ring

Madison, on April 28, 2019 at 11:17 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 14
I'm not familiar with how we are supposed to do my rings during the ceremony. Does my FH just give me my wedding band and I put on the engagement ring after the ceremony? Or do I just wear the band by itself all night? Should I just get them soldered together before the ceremony and just receive the complete set?

Traditionally, you wear your engagement ring on your right hand during the ceremony.
He places your wedding band on your left hand....then you put your engagement ring back on the left after you are married.
That way your wedding ring is closest to your ❤.

Yea tradition has it this way 💕 some people also have someone hold the engagement ring and put it on after the ceremony. I would think long and hard about getting it soldered because I've been told it's a pain to get them taken apart should you ever want/need to.

I wore my engagement ring on my right hand that day. After the ceremony I placed it back on my left, after the band. I would solder it after, if you absolutely want to do it

I'm going to give him my rings as a set because mine is a ring guard and that would just look goofy alone and my ering is way tight on my right hand.

I am wearing my ring on my left hand on my wedding day. My wedding band would look funny without my engagement ring being there because it is a bridal set.

People do it all sorts of ways. I just wore my engagement ring as normal, H placed the band on my finger about the E Ring, and sometime after the ceremony, I simply switched their orientation.

Nobody will notice, do whatever feels most comfortable to you! If you plan to get them soldered together, that would be a good option. I'm not getting mine soldered together so this is what we did. My engagement ring didn't fit on my right hand, so I just wore my engagement ring on my left hand and he put the wedding band on top of it (so the order was e-ring, band) and then after the ceremony I switched it to band, e-ring.

What we are doing is I will not have my e-ring on at all the day of the wedding while getting ready. Then at the ceremony FH will place both wedding band and e-ring on my finger at the same time. This way there are in the correct order and I don't need to remember to switch anything around or add another ring.

Any of those options work. Figure out what works for you. One thing to consider is if your engagement ring will fit on your right hand. Most right handed people have larger right hand fingers. Mine definitely wouldn't fit.

I have always believed that the engagement ring stays on the left and the wedding band proceeds it. The engagement ring is the first promise so it is always placed closest to the heart. That is how I wore my first set and will do so again.

THANK YOU FOR ASKING THIS Smiley heart

I have been wondering about it for a few weeks now and never knew if there was an exact way it had to be done. After reading all the comments, I have decided how I will do it.

Wedding band goes on first to be closest to your heart! Smiley heart then you move your engagement ring from your ring finger to your left hand after!

I wore my ering on my pinky finger the first time I got married because it was too tight on my right hand. Then I just transferred it over. No one notice, but no one was there either lmao.

Thank you for asking this! I've been wondering, and I think I've settled on wearing it on my right hand and switching it over after the ceremony
