Realistic Waxy Battery Operated Candles Melt Outdoors?

Taichie, on April 9, 2019 at 1:15 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 3
Hi!

This may be an obvious question but I'm getting different feedback from people who don't have first hand knowledge, so I'm asking you all here...

Has anyone used those realistic flickering battery operated candles with the waxy exterior, outside for a summer wedding? Ours is in June in Murrieta/Temecula. June first, can get into the high 90s. I want to use these style candles for my centerpieces but am worried they will warp or melt. It will be mostly shady where the candles will be. Can anyone tell me what their experience is before I go out and by boxes of them?

Thanks!!

Yes, they can if they're coated wax, and possibly if made out of silicon if left sitting in the sun. I would go with the hard plastic ones, but maybe tape off the flame piece and coat with a matte spray maybe?

    Hi Taichie.

I would be very afraid that the waxy exterior would melt due to the high temperatures. Would you consider reaching out to the manufacturer and asking if this is a possibility?

Alternatively, the venue's coordinator may be able to advise if any previous couples have used them in the centerpieces and the outcome.

    What are your centerpieces like?

Did you end up getting these candles, Taichie? Did you reach out to the manufacturer? Do you still plan on using some in your wedding?
