Real vs. Fake Flowers

My fiancé and I can’t decide on wether we want real or fake flowers for the wedding. I love real flowers but I feel like they will be such a hassle. I don’t want to go through a florist because it will be way too expensive, so the only other option would be to buy them in bulk and do them myself. My fiancé and I are paying for the whole wedding ourselves and we just bought our first house together and our wedding is October 5th. I guess what I’m trying to ask is would it be tacky to do fake flowers? Would people even notice or care?

That is gorgeous. Did you watch any tutorial explaining how to make it. I would like to do garland like this for my daughters wedding. Do you have any more pictures?

It honestly depends on WHERE you get your fake flowers from. Places like JoAnns, Hobby Lobby, they have really really nice silk flowers that look amazing. Or you can order the real touch silk flowers online. Dollar Store flowers nearly always look as fake as fake can get.
Also, wait for 50% off sales at Hobby Lobby before you buy. Every other week or so

I’m a big flower person, worked in greenhouse most of my life but to save money I’ve been doing the fake flowers. It helps that hobby lobby has their flowers on sale every other week and some even look real. If you’re concerned of them looking a little smashed or wrinkled you can use a blow dryer to smooth the flowers out. I’ve attached what I’ve made so far for our wedding.

We are using fake flowers because that's what we wanted plus my fiance's cousin's wife is allergic to sunflowers! We are using fake sunflowers because i have always wanted fake flowers too!
