real touch vs silk flowers

Hi ladies,

I'm hoping someone can explain to me what the difference between real touch and silk flowers are. For my centerpieces I plan on having a long tall vase with a calla lilly submerged in the water. I initially thought that a real flower would be best but those are always unpredictable especially since I will be setting up the centerpieces the night before. So now I'm left wondering what the difference between silk and real touch is.

I appreciate any input.

    I can tell you that i got the real touch calla lillies and they are soooo nice! They feel nice and real. the only complaint that i have about them is the stem. At least the ones i got, the stem looks just like a tube of rubber. So that was a bummer. But other than that they look GREAT!

    More than likely I will have to cut the stem. From websites I've been looking at, the shortest ones are about 14 inches. Is the stem material cut-able?

    Ahh thank you Danielle. Do you have a website where you found your flowers for cheap. The cheapest I've found in about $4. I really appreciate your help.

    Heres a site that has so many different kinds, and if you buy in bulk you get a discount! Ill keep looking for some better prices.
