Real is always better but I am using artificial flowers for this wedding to save money. You?

We ended up going through Something Borrowed Blooms for artificial flowers. We're planning a destination wedding, so it's actually a relief to have ordered a sample to see (and liked), placed an order to be delivered to our venue, and plan on just being ready to enjoy them! Smiley smile I was hesitant, being someone who adores real flowers, but for us it has been the right decision both financially and ease of mind. We're incorporating real greenery in our centerpieces though, as that will be easy enough for us to get and do quickly once we are at our venue.

We are going with real. Ours is a destination wedding in Charleston, SC in April and I found a place that you can do an " a la carte" flower selection. Everything will be under $1,000 which from experience is a great deal. If we were home I would totally make arrangements myself and save even more but it just isn't doable being away. We did buy fake rose petals to scatter down the aisle and on tables which look great! Good luck!

I'm not a fan of faux blooms, though now they are making magnificent ones. See afloral.com and https://www.lingsmoment.com/collections/all-flowers?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=real%20touch%20silk%20flowers%20wedding&gadid=560609558548&utm_id=15232643720&gclid=Cj0KCQjwlemWBhDUARIsAFp1rLU7CrQen64Ac4ctc0dP-Fg1mFueRgNPowGI68A6aZ9ZbBM7GBvj1x4aAiVDEALw_wcB

That being said, sometimes you need to use artificial because if you are using outdoor property, and it's a hot day, real flowers will wilt and in a couple of hours lose their beautiful shape and form. I think bridal party flowers, especially a bridal bouquet should be real, and I'd opt for lots of green and mix with some dry flowers so that it always looks fresh. I think potted flowering blooms do well in warmer weather as well. See Martha Stewart's link for bridal bouquet ideas: https://www.marthastewart.com/7876253/heat-resistant-summer-wedding-bouquets#:~:text=Hardier%20flowers%20like%20garden%20roses,like%20the%20pros%20they%20are.

Whatever you choose, don't go the bargain store way for faux flowers, do spend the $ and get simplier designs and/or your florist can always do bouquets and arrangments with a mix of dry and filler flowers with just a few blooms.

Hope this helps. Best wishes to everyone.

    Artificial
Originally, I wanted fresh flowers but it made more sense to go with artificial for so many reasons.
    1. My fiancé has allergies. 2. My flower color palette is redish burgundy, peach, and a yellowish color; which is very hard to find in fresh flowers or if I can find it's expensive. 3. I get the flowers I want regardless of the season, such as peonies. By the way my flowers are redish burgundy roses, peach peonies, and yellowish David Austin roses with dusty miller.4. The flowers I got are real touch so they feel and look real.5. I have arrangements prearranged for the big day so setup should be a breeze.6. I'm having a second reception and want the same flowers and theme.7. Even after the wedding and second reception are over, I will reuse them to decorate my home with because they are just that lovely. Thus, I will not be throwing my money away on fresh flowers that will only last for a day. However, as many brides already stated, it truly is a personal preference. Therefore, brides should go with their heart when choosing between artificial or fresh. For me it just made more sense to go with artificial.

I agree and I get that. Your colors are very specific, so that's a great choice. You can get some greenery very cheaply to incorporate with your roses and peonies if you wish. And, having a second reception, those will do double duty and you enjoy them at home later. Best wishes!

That is beautiful but I am wondering if it would be better for you to rent those items. I am actually doing that with www.borrowtheblooms.com I am renting the arch flowers decorations, lanterns, bouquets and everything else and it’s so much cheaper than buying all and then try to sell it. Hopefully this helps :-)

I think you can save even more money and time consuming trying to selling ever afterwards than if you rent it. I am doing that with www.borrowtheblooms.com and I got everything I wanted for $4k less!!! And I don’t have to worry about tear down or even selling anything afterwards, maybe that works for you as well.

I honestly prefer artificial but our arrangements are provided by our venue so we will be using whatever is in season and they prepare. We are eloping so nothing will be in excess either way. We also just upped our wedding date to November 6,2022 so it’s rapidly approaching now

I’m using a mix of both. I’m judging a lot of greenery and a few styles of flowers

Hi! I am actually using the solowood flowers. It was super easy to soften then and dye them. The drying is what takes a while. I put them in the long tin pans that you put for warmer so they had room to dry. I was actually a great deal! I attached pictures of what they look like. I still have to make my bouquet. I made my youngest daughter's look like a mini version of how I want mine to be since she wants to be my miniature for my wedding. Real flowers or artificial? 2

Using artificial flowers for my wedding due to it being outdoors in June. Bought all my flowers off of Amazon.

My husband and I are doing both! Real flowers for the bouquets and boutonnières and then fake for the table decor. Flowers are on the pricey side and we decided to invest more in food and open bar☺️
