I read other threads and this makes me think of 100 questions. I really don't want to spend the time flooding the forum today. I also get tired of using the crappy search on here! I have some random questions. If anyone has answers to even one, I would really appreciate it. =) Thanks 1. Are you...

1. Are you inviting your officiant to the rehearsal dinner? I am getting married in a Catholic Church and I don't know if I should? (He said someone else may be doing rehearsal)

2. Is it ok to hand write addresses on the STD and/or Invitations? Is anyone doing this without taking calligraphy lessons?

3. Would it be OK to not have a grooms cake? I really don't want to spend the money on it. I would rather buy FH a better gift(s). Anyone else doing this?

4. My MOH is amazing when it comes to responding to me. However, one of my BM is really busy and never answers any of my wedding texts or emails. Does anyone else have this "problem"? How can I try to get some more info from her without sounding selfish

Only those participating in the rehearsal need to be invited to the rehearsal dinner. And even if the officiant is invited, s/he typically does not attend unless you have been friends before starting wedding planning. I would just extend an informal last-minute invitation to whoever shows up to conduct the rehearsal.

Not only is it okay, it is required by traditional etiquette. And calligraphy is not required.

No, a groom's cake is definitely not required. We skipped one because we didn't have a groom, but even in weddings that do have a groom, it's probably done a minority of the time.

I would minimize the number of requests for info. She is busy, and her life does not revolve around your wedding. So long as she gets the right dress by the appropriate time, and shows up for your wedding, that is all that is required of her.

    1. It's a nice gesture if you know the officiant personally, or if they are a family friend. Most officiants will appreciate the thought but say no.
