Hey Ladies!

As I read various threads from new brides, I Am curious to know. How do random people show up to your wedding? In thinking about my situation, most of my guests are coming from out of state. So these potential "randoms" would have to pay flight/hotel/rental car to attend my wedding. At that point why not just say your coming.

So level set me ladies - are these instate randoms showing up or out of state random showing up? Did you allot for randoms in your final head count?

Help a sista out :-)

We have a buffet style so the food isn't so much the problem but we are not leaving out extra seats. Although I do like that idea from the other post about writing the place card for "I didn't rsvp but am here anyway" lol.

No random people showed up. However, I had enough food between extras and the no-shows that I would have been fine.

I had only one random person show up and I distinctly remember walking down the aisle, seeing her and thinking "who the hell is that?" I then promptly forgot all about her but at the reception, my cousin came up to me and apologized. I invited their whole family of 5 but they went ahead and brought their 17 year old son's girlfriend with them. "She's like family!" was the excuse. Um...not to me... In the long run it didn't end up mattering. We had extra chairs and plenty of food but still. My cousin could have at least told me ahead of time. I probably would have said sure, bring her but at least I would have known her name!

I refuse to have any randoms. I'm having a destination wedding; I sent out my STDs a year in advance and my invites 3 months in advance. There's NO excuse for not RSVPing. My deadline was today and I'm having to track down A THIRD (yes, you read that right) of my guest list. It's just SO rude. I'm telling those that haven't responded that if they don't do so by next Monday, there WON'T be food or a seat for them at the wedding. Period.
