I feel like I am always reading articles that say you should date two or three years before being engaged (which was not my case, at all). Did anyone else get engaged under the "recommended" time? ETA: FH and I are in our 30s and are both 100% confident that we are each other's "person," I just like...

I feel like I am always reading articles that say you should date two or three years before being engaged (which was not my case, at all). Did anyone else get engaged under the "recommended" time? ETA: FH and I are in our 30s and are both 100% confident that we are each other's "person," I just like hearing stories from other people who knew right away they found their forever Smiley smile

    Friends for a year, dated for a year, will have been engaged for a little over a year!

    We were engaged in 3 months. We are currently buying our own house. We both know we are the one for each other....but some rocks in the road.

    It really depends, like a lot of people said, on age and the people in the actual relationship. Every situation is different. I know lots of people in their 30s who dated a year or less before getting engaged. I wouldn't stress about it! What's important is the commitment you're making to each other...and you can't put a timestamp on that! Smiley smile
