PSA: Beware of buying a dress at David's Bridal

I am very disappointed with DB. If you go to the website, the dress is advertised as "Crinkle chiffon fabric is free flowing and comfortable." Well I just went to pick them up and the dress is 100% polyester. See the picture of the tag for yourself.

How could DB blatantly do this false advertisement? There is no time to exchange the dresses since I don't want to start from scratch and I am running out of time. I just want to warn other brides who haven't bought their wedding dress/BM dress to just beware of what DB is pulling.

Honestly, I think the thing that pissed me off the most about this post is that you (or a bm) are a size 2!! Haha jk! Those days of size 2s are long gone for me!!

My bridesmaid dresses are chiffon and I didn't know that chiffon isn't the material!

I'll jump on the learned something new boat. Did not know chiffon was a style not a fabric either.

Man we are all learning something today. I also have chiffon dresses and didn't realize that was a style not the fabric.

Chiffon, Charmeuse, Satin - all of that is the style not the type. You can have blends of silk or other natural fibers, or they can be synthetic.

I looked at the ad. It clearly says the dress is made of crinkle chiffon fabric. So, that's not the style, that's the material (the style is high/low halter dress). That's where it gets a little confusing. There is silk chiffon, and then there's polyester chiffon (there are also other kinds of chiffon). From what I've read on the internet, polyster chiffon is referred to as "affordable elegance". While silk chiffon is more expensive, the sites I read said it is not durable and tears easily. Also, I'm not sure why you would have to dry clean polyester. At least, it should be hand washable.

Also, most dresses are made from synthetics UNLESS they specify that it is a silk. it was one of the reasons I decided to make my dress - I'd rather spend $50/yard on silk and get a quality dress than several thousand on a polyester dress.
