I strongly suggest it. Otherwise you'll have people stepping on it all day / night.

I don't think there are really any cons. Don't have one and you get stepped on all night.

I had a really well made bustle but I'm a dancing queen and by the end of the night it had come undone. It didn't really matter, it was probably within the last 5 songs of the night but I couldn't imagine holding up all that dress all night long.

I told FMIL it couldnt be that bad until i thought of it, i dont want to be holding it all night either. I would get annoyed. I figure to go ahead and get it done to the dress i think i will feel better about it. i just figured it would make i wouldnt have to do something that may not be as important as it thought but i guess it really is important

    No cons. All pros.

Get the train off the floor, keep it clean and stop people from stepping on it. You'll be able to move around MUCH easier with it up.

I had a bustle. It broke. I couldn't stop stepping on my own dress anyway, so, whatevs.

I'm doing a french bustle. Comes just under your rear end and looks so cool. My bridal consultant also said that a lot of women are putting decorative chains on their trains and attaching to their wrists. I had a bustle at my first wedding, but it didn't hold very well and had to safety pin it. Just as we were leaving the reception one of the pins popped open and poked me right in the rear.

I hate my bustle. But it's better than holding the very heavy train or having people step on it so I am still doing it.

I hated the look my bustle. But I loved when it was bustled. Then, hubby stepped on the little bit of length I still had and tore a stitch that held my bustle up. Half the night I wore it on my wrist, with the strap that takes the train to the hanger. Definately not fun. Go with the bustle. It's worth it.

My lining will have a disappearing bustle and then my chiffon overlay with ruching will be a side bustle. My train is just a small sweep train but I didn't want it to drag or get stepped on while we're partying.
