How common is it to use fake flowers these days? What are the pros and cons? What made you decide to use either real or fake? For those of you who used fake flowers, what comments did you get about them, positive or negative? Did people even notice they weren't real? How much money did you save?...

I've also seen people use Sola wood flowers I believe, I don't know how they are personally though

Thanks!! I’m so happy with it so far. Flowers came from a craft store that’s now out of business unfortunately and the greenery came from Michael’s (another craft store) and amazon

I'll be using fake flowers from Something Borrowed Blooms. I just got the preview pack from them ($40) so that I could decided between two of the collections. They look great, just like they do in their photos. I'm not a person that DIYs and florists just seemed really hard to get a quote out of without knowing exactly what I wanted. SBB made it really easy for me so far, and that is greatly appreciated!

These are the flowers I'll be using and the garland that will go on the pavilion for my ceremony.

We are using fake flowers. One reason is the cost, the other reason being FH and his dad have sensitive allergies and I don't want to accidentally trigger them Smiley xd Our new venue for the big wedding takes care of centerpieces, so other than bouquets and boutonnieres, we didn't really need a lot of flowers, so it didn't make sense to hire a florist. Putting together the bouquets was a lot of fun for me and my MOH and BM, we made a day of putting them together and drinking champagne and watching rom coms Smiley smile

Aw, how fun! I had a friend do something similar - she saved a lot of money ordering flowers in bulk from Costco and then we put the bouquets and centerpieces together ourselves. They looked just as nice as any I've seen by a professional florist. (We could have used some champagne and rom coms though!)

This is what I was considering doing for myself but when I looked recently I was surprised at how limited Costco's selection was. I should reach out to my friend, but I'm thinking I just might have better luck finding what I'm looking for if I use fake flowers and don't have to worry about what's in season.

I hate almost everything about flowers, so we decided on origami flowers made with sheet music paper for all the flower-y things.

Yeah I was kinda picky on which flowers I wanted (i.e. red carnations, pink chrysanthemums, etc) so I bought some on Amazon, but there are definitely better places if you are looking to buy bulk!

Hi! I’m using fake flowers! I’m not having a bridal party and I avoid an up charge at my venue since they do the flowers as well; so, overall I chose fake because it’s definitely a money saver. I bought silk flowers from an Etsy shop for my personal bouquet and single roses for the special women in my life. They look real and feel great.

My maid of honor and I finished all my flowers this weekend. All faux. It’s hard to tell they’re not real in my opinion. The key is choosing different types of greens to give texture I think. It was a ton of work though. If a florist is in your budget and you want the work done for you I’d go that route but for faux flowers YouTube and Pinterest inspo pics helped me a ton!
