program for reception?

Ramona, on April 1, 2011 at 4:35 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 5

Hi girls,

We have our little beach wedding with 50 guests in August and while the structure and program for the ceremony are pretty much clear and simple I am wondering what all should be on the program for the reception? And in which order? And does it make sense to print a program for it, so that everybody knows what's going on when? And what should you def do?

any help out there?

I would pass on doing a program if you are having a simple beach ceremony with only 50 guests. Everyone knows what is going on so it would just be an added cost. If you did want a program I would make one on vistaprint so you don't spend a ton of money.

Well the problem is - guess I should have mentioned that - that people don't know what is going on. Half of the guests are German and catholic and the other half is american. And I tell you, the ceremonies are quite different.

We are trying to mix it to get a bit of both and that's why I was thinking of a program.

And hah - I have NO clue what all you do at the reception. Cutting the cake, first dance, Father & daughter dance, mother & groom, last dance. Bouquet toss and garter toss - anything else?

In Germany they usually have tons of little games and such. Anything like that here?

Oh and thank you for the templates - Hayley! Those links are great!

I don't think that you really need a program for the reception. The flow of your reception is up to you. You can choose or not choose to do traditional wedding things.
