Print/Handwrite envelopes for the invites

Ok so I've read several places that handwriting addresses on the outer envelope is proper etiquette. I'm fine with that..... The big question is, do you hand write the inner envelope too? Also, do you only include the return address for the response card envelopes or do you put the address on there...

I hand wrote all of mine. It wasn't a big deal to me.

I hand wrote the inner envelope, outer with their address, but for the RSVP card I had my address printed on there and for the outer envelope as well (for return address).

I don't care about ettiqutte- I'm printing mine in a font to match the invitations!

Our guest list is already over 200, and I don't have the time to write them all.

I am going to print them on the envelope instead of using a label, but that's about the extent of the trouble I'm going to.

I set up my guest list in an Excel spreadsheet, and am just going to do a mail merge.

I agree with jlam about the printing or labeling the outers and hand-writing inners, but if you fail to include your return address on either the outer envelope or the reply cards, they won't get returned to you. They both must have return address to be mailed.

I am using my computer and printer to print everything. I have horrid handwriting and the postal service's preference this days is as follows:

    DODDIE J SLACK

    1234 ANY ROAD

    ANY TOWN WV 12345

It makes it better for their scanners to sort the mail. If it is handwritten there is the chance of your mail being delayed.

I'll be printing my friend's addresses, but handwriting anyone over the age of 50's. My friends couldn't care less about the ettiquette rules, but Grandma sure will, lol. I figure this way I'm only handwriting 10, and I'll print the rest. I'm not using inner/outer, but if you really want to save time, you could handwrite the inside and print the outside...but I wouldn't handwrite the outside and print the inside.

I'm pretty sure I'll be handwritting mine...it will save money on lables or stamps and I don't feel like dealing with printing it on the computer. I love writting things anyway and like my handwritting. I think what ever works for you is fine.

I think you have to also take into consideration what hand you write with if you're going to hand write- in my case I'm a lefty....and all leftys know, we have the lefty smudge. Smiley smile

Where can I buy clear labels to print? Should I search for "clear address labels?"
