Mine is a traditional A-Line with a long train and i absolutely fell in love with it right away, and even after 8 months, I am still so in love with it and can't wait to put it back on! (this pic is pre-alterations)

Mine isn't just a princess, but a DISNEY princess! I heart it and can't wait to wear it the whole day! And again the next week for post-wedding/faux 'trash the dress' shoot!

    I guess mine's a fit and flare? Clearly I don't pay attention.

I am not a huge fan of ballgowns for myself, but I've certainly never heard anyone call them tacky.

I love the ball gown/princess style. I was so bummed when I put a few on and they didn't look right. I'm not entirely sure what mine would be considered. It is kind of sheath/fit n flare but with a lace overlay that gives it an a-line. I thin it's called an illusion a-line?

**btw - i love all these dresses!!

Yup! we're doing it downstairs because they wouldn't let us have it upstairs unless we had 150 people. We even offered to pay the difference, but it was a no go.

Both of my brothers had theirs in the downstairs it is very nice. Ours will be upstairs because we have about 300 people. Its a great reception site are you getting married on the grounds? I am so excited I found another person getting married where I am! Smiley smile

I wore a tea length dress (similar to my avatar pic). I've never heard poofy ball gowns are tacky, that sounds crazy!!

Mine's a Disney Princess and a Mermaid Smiley smile It's one of the Ariel dresses from the AA Disney Princess line.

I can't say that in general I favor one style of dress over another - I think it really depends on the person and their likes/dislikes. I've seen beautiful brides in all sorts of gowns. When I was looking I tried on all types of gowns including some very beautiful ball gowns. One in particular was a strong contender but it was quite formal in design and wouldn't have fit with my venue/atmosphere we were trying for

I don't know that there is such a thing as a tacky wedding dress (ok that one with the b88bs hanging out may classify) Each of us have our own styles and as long as it makes you feel beautiful that feeling will show through
