Princess Cut Solitaire Engagement Rings!

Lauren, on January 25, 2016 at 1:20 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 35

Anybody have a 1/4 carat princess cut solitaire engagement ring? If so, what's your wedding band look like? I'm struggling to find something I like with mine.

I don't have a solitaire, but I am having the same problem due to the style of band on my E ring.

I've always loved the look of filigree band with a solitaire though.

I have a princess cut solitaire, my husband wanted a band set with princess cut stones but I didn't like the look (almost too heavy and they were channel set which isn't my favorite) so we went with round stones each with a four prong setting giving the appearance of squares. That way the shapes mimic each other and (I think) it matches better.

Honestly, I have no idea what mine is so Ill post a picture. Its a solitaire with a 4 set prong and a round diamond, is that princess cut? I really dont know much about rings except that they are all so pretty!

Gorgeous! I'm getting an eternity band with mine, to add a little extra bling! I found that a plain band blended in too much with the engagement ring.

I'm in love with the scalloped style! Not sure what it's called but i like the style with the circles and the ovals.

No, princess cut is the square. I assumed a princess cut band would look best with it but those are hard to find. I don't want us to spend a fortune on a band and I don't want to take away from the solitaire. Anyone done a contour band with it or does the round diamond bands look okay with the princess cut engagement ring?

@Lauren that's what we did, the rounds with a pronged setting. I think it looks fine but obviously I picked it so of course I do. They're not great quality but here's a couple pictures from when we picked out the band.

Edit: The band on my engagement ring is kind of fat so you could totally do a more delicate band with the round stones and I think it would look amazing.

I would think the princess cut band would look good with it, or a contour. I love the contour bands. (I just googled all these, I'm learning something here).

If you can find the princess band it looks so nice together. At least in this picture! Gorgeous!

Also not a solitaire but for my princess cut I went for channel diamonds in my band. There is a greater risk of them falling out but we have a warranty on it.

This is my ring (1.02 carats, E in color on a knife edge band) and this is the wedding band I chose. I like classic and simple.

I think I may end up with round bands as it seems those are easier to find. I'm going to attach a couple bands I saw online....would you put any of these with my ring?

I love my princess cut solitaire! But it looks so much prettier now that my DH has paired it with this band.

Personally, I would avoid the contour band. I don't think it's necessary for the shape a makes it an accessory to the engagement ring rather than a statement on it's own. I also like to wear my band alone sometimes and I feel like you can't do that with a contour band (personal preference, obviously). The other two would be great.
