Just curious on average what people are spending for their catering? Are the tables and chairs included in price for the guests? Are they coming to set up & clean up after? We are looking to do buffet style and wanting to be penny pinchers since we are paying for the entire wedding our selves but curious on average what your paying per person and what's all included. We will have around 50 guest.

It definitely varies by location. In NYC my FH and I are paying about $100 a person which includes the appetizers, meal, dessert, waitstaff and bar staff , cleanup, linens, tables and chairs. We do have to purchase the liquor ourselves but they have been very helpful with providing suggestions for that

After taxes and fees we paid $145pp. This was for an all inclusive venue (ceremony & reception).

I'm near Detroit and our venue choice charges $48 pp and that includes the food, premium bar, room rental, chairs and covers, all set up and tear down, and all staff! There's also a champagne toast and a chocolate fountain which I'm crazy about! I love chocolate!

I'm jealous of these $13 and $14 pp caterers but I know it depends on location. My caterer is $18 pp for pulled pork BBQ and sides as well as a salad bar. They do minimum 50 people and it's an extra $300 for set up, serving, and clean up. To me it's worth it to not have to worry with it.

This price does not include chairs or tables or alcohol. We are providing wine and beer.

My venue does all the catering, clean up set up, bar service, and includes tables, chairs, glassware, silverware, etc. just no linens and napkins. They have a $7500 or $55/per person minimum whichever is greater, but they do include all of that so it seems pricey up front but includes a lot. It is WAAAYY too early for us to send RSVPs so I can't give you an actual final amount it's costing us but we expect about 150 people

    Edit: wording

We had 130 guests RSVP and our catering was just around 2k. We did a buffet style dinner catered by a local restaurant (we're in southern Illinois) that we both grew up eating. Two entrees, three sides, salad and bread. It included set up, tear down and they cut our cake for us as well. The price did not include drinks, tables or chairs.

My venue sets up everything and tears it down. We have to rent linens but buying cause they are cheaper. I am paying around $24 pp buffet style bacon wrapped pork loin, baby reds, carrots, rolls, salad & something else but I can't remember at the moment. This however it is w/o bar tab cause that's separate & we won't have that price till 2 weeks before the wedding.

It depends what city and state you are in. Our venue provides the catering. We are paying $200 a person, this includes cocktail hour, chairs &tables, linens, top shelf open bar, 4 course plated meal (with 11 options for dinner), cake, and mini venetian, and valet service. Everything else including ceremony, tips, and decor is an additional cost. Obviously florist, photo & video, limo, entertainment is an additional cost. We are having about 120-130 people.

This is going to vary substantially depending on where you are having the wedding. FH and I live in Brooklyn, but are getting married in a garden Manor type venue in Long Island, and are paying $100pp plus tax and gratuity. That includes, full top shelf open bar for the entire reception, champagne welcome, 10 stations and passed hot and cold apps, cheese, fruit and meat display, 3 course plated meal, cake, take home station with zeppoles, hot chocolate and hot cider, all linens, staff, set up, clean up and my ceremony flowers. Getting married in March definitely helped us get lots of discounts and my venue has been a dream to work with.

It definitely depends on location. Tables, linens and set up is included in our venue price. They also do catering, it's going to be about $32 per person for a buffet of 2 proteins, pasta with red, pasta with Alfredo, a potato, 2 vegetables and a dinner roll I believe. So we are looking at maybe $6,000 for food. It's a pretty good price.

I'm so jealous of the people who are paying less than $20pp. I'm in VA and paying $80pp but that includes everything: chairs, linens, place settings, 5 hour open bar, and a buffet dinner.
