Pretzel late night snack

Alexandria, on May 31, 2019 at 12:33 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 11
Hello,
Do you think it would be ok to have a pretzel bar set up before the reception? Similar to how a cupcake display is set up beforehand.

OR do they have to be served warm?

I'm not sure on the warm thing or not, but I'd be concerned that people would eat them earlier than you planned, if they are set up before the reception.

I feel serving the pretzels warm would be a better idea Smiley smile

I don't think people would realize that they're a late night snack if they're set out before the reception. I would also be concerned about freshness if they're sitting out for 4+ hours.

If they are set up before the reception, I think people will start to eat them as soon as they enter the room. I don't think they will survive to be eaten as late night snacks. Can you have the venue set them up later in the evening?

I would try to have them set up later. And I think you will definitely want them warmed.

I don't think that they need to be warmed per say, just fresh - or rather not hard.
I would see if you can store them in a container & perhaps tie a bag around the container to keep any air out, as air destroys pretzels, and put them out when you want people to eat them.

So maybe prepackage them individually (kinda more like a favor) they day before? Then store all the prepackaged pretzels in an air tight container?

That is what I would do. And you can include a little note on there saying "thank you for helping us tie the knot" - which depending on the pretzel shape could be fitting as they could have a knot in the middle. I'm from Philly - I am serious w/ my pretzels Smiley winking

That sounds cool to have. I think it would be better served later. Because people might think it's a pre reception thing and eat it and it sounds like it could be filling.

Did you decide if you will have the pretzel bar set up before the reception, Alexandria?
