Did you successfully preserve parts of your wedding bouquet, or even the whole bouquet? Thank you in advance 🥂

Yes there is a difference. Sunflowers fall apart. I’m assuming similarly perales flowers like daisies will do that as well. Her orchids also fell apart more.

Any flowers you recommend? I was planning to have an all orchid bouquet but I am open for a change in order to preserve them.

That's beautiful. And it also depends on how you want to preserve them. Pressing them or having something made out of petal pieces would work for many flowers that don't hold together as well in just drying them. I haven't done this a lot yet. Just my friend's (which was mainly roses, sunflowers and orchids), and I'm playing with some flowers from my garden right now (roses, irises, hollyhocks). I'm actually really impressed with how well the irises just dried in the silica. And even roses can fall apart sometimes. It depends on how open the flowers are, how old/wilted. I just cut these roses straight from the bush and put them in silica but some were older with a few petals already falling off (those fell apart completely in the silica) and some held up really well.
Here's a link I found for some flowers that are fabulous dried: https://www.bhg.com/decorating/home-accessories/flower-arranging/flowers-for-drying/

There's also ways to preserve orchids: https://www.google.com/search?q=preserving+orchid+flowers&rlz=1C5CHFA_enUS862US862&oq=preserving+orchi&aqs=chrome.0.0l2j69i57j0l5.3626j1j4&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

It may be that hers were not a higher quality, they were also small. I believe the ones she used were more just the little ones you can get a cut bouquet of from walmart, not the bigger ones.

Trying with backyard flowers are such a great idea! I will do this today!

I was thinking to hang the bouquet upside down and let it dry that way, and carry it back home wrapped in a plastic bag in my flight. When I get home I will then put it inside the box after CA summer makes it extra dry.
Maybe it’s easier when the bouquet is round and only dry half of themPreserving the bouquet or parts of it? 2

I don’t know. Could be. I’ve only dried individual flowers. I didn’t leave it together as a bouquet.

Oh and being in Cali definitely makes a difference. NC humidity makes it take longer and the longer it takes the more the color fades.
