Pregnant on Wedding Day! Morning Sickness, Hello..

Futuremrs, on May 17, 2019 at 3:24 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 13

Hi friends. I recently found out I am pregnant (YAY) we started trying but thought it would take longer... turns out it was our time! So I will be 8 WEEKS pregnant at my wedding. Not concerned about my dress, but the NAUSEA is REAL! I am so worried about feeling sick on my big day! Does any one have any similar experiences with morning sickness or all day nausea and what they did to feel better?! Tips would be greatly appreciated!

I had really bad morning sickness when I was pregnant, but it was actually like all day sickness. I did find that it would be triggered by certain things. I couldn't eat too early, certain smells, etc. So if you find what triggers it then just stay away from that. Otherwise I used preggie pops and they are like lollipops but are for nausea - and they seriously helped! Oh - and CONGRATS!!!!! So exciting!!!

    First off congratulations, on both!
Second my mother was pregnant with me on her wedding day and said she was very sure to stay hydrated because she was nauseous and the church was hot.
I have a few conditions with chronic nausea so off the top of my head I can say try mint or ginger tea (before the wedding), but don't drink anymore of it if you actually throw up. Watered down warm Gatorade sounds gross but helps if you're dehydrated or vomiting.
I'd say have a light breakfast, try to avoid carbonated drinks because the pressure from the bubbles can trigger nausea and vomit reflexes, and remember to take your time. You're the bride, you're pregnant, everyone should be catering to you!

Not sure if this has any negative impact on pregnant women but my sister, a nurse, taught me to carry around alcohol wipes like the ones used for shots, etc. Whenever I'd get very nauseous I'd sniff it and it would calm down. I get super car sick and once I stat with the nausea it stays and I just can't shake it. This would only help with feeling nauseous.

Zofran...just ask your OB for a script and start your day with some dry toast and a banana. Trust me, it helps.

Awww congratulations! That is so exciting. I don't have any tips, but this is the exact reason I told my fiance we wouldn't start trying for a baby until after the wedding. He has wanted to have a baby for almost 3 years now and has tried convincing me to go off my birth control a few months before the wedding so we can try to get pregnant early, but I told him no because I was worried about morning sickness. I get nauseous really easily so I can only imagine being pregnant. I hope you are able to get through your wedding without being sick.

Smart! This was the first cycle off birth control and boom pregnant! The doctor said it normally takes around 6 months after birth control to regulate so I figured I had time but god had other plans for us!!!

Congratulations!! That's so exciting! When I was pregnant, I had really bad morning sickness, that usually lasted all day. The only thing that helped was keeping saltines (or any salty cracker) by the bed. If I ate a few before getting out of bed, I would be less nauseous during the day. I also found that ginger ale really helped settle my stomach. It's kind of like having the flu, only it lingers for months! lol I have also heard that they make those pregnancy lollipops now. Those weren't around when I was pregnant (28 years ago!), but I have heard they really work.

    Good luck to you!

Never let your stomach get completely empty. Carry a zip lock of crackers , or wheat chexs, something that will stay with you, and have just a few every hour ir so. Not spicy, not salty ones. And at least a sip or two of water with them.

My niece's mom would eat a banana as soon as she woke up and that worked for her.

    Congratulations!!

Ginger works amazing for morning sickness!! If it's bad though you can always ask for zofran and keep it as back up for the wedding day
