Potato Bar

Tierra , on July 23, 2018 at 5:40 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 28
Hey so my fiance and I have been debating about food options for our wedding. Our most recent idea is a potato bar. Do you think that would be a good idea. Has anyone else done this, if so about how much does this normally cost?

I love potatoes lol probably too much. I’m not sure how much it would cost (I wouldn’t imagine much), but I’d definitely enjoy it!

I would love this! What are you thinking, just the potato or what other food options? The reason I ask is because I have never heard of this, but it sounds like you could do a lot of different options and would be fun

I think it would be cool. Will you have many food stations? Or will this be an appetizer?

Potato bars are awesome and as far as I know pretty cheap, whether you are doing mashed potatoes or baked potatoes. Just as a heads up, if you are doing mashed potatoes, while they are adorable in cute glasses/martini glasses, it is a pain in the butt. Plus they taste just as good out of a regular dish! Good luck!

I'm thinking the potato and a few toppings like chicken and another meat, cheese, bacon, sour cream, and maybe like chilli.

What are you serving other than potatoes? You'll need more than a potato bar.

A potato bar would be good as an appetizer or side dish station

Even if we do a potato bar as a tailgate, we have a lot more food than just potatoes. We have appetizers and a lot of side dishes.

Idk if it’s just me but I think it’s weird to put chicken on top of a baked potato as if you’re creating a “loaded” baked potato. I’m assuming you’re doing that to try to make it more of a normal entree but it’s a strange combination to me.

I lovedfully loaded potatoes and would definitely be excited if I attended your wedding. I would have a basic potato bar, baked potatoes, cheese butter sour cream and bacon and then have some trays with chili shredded chicken and shredded pull pork and maybe one or two sides. Like green beans or salad and mashed potatoes . Make sure your guest have a few options because not everyone would likes baked potatoes. You can keep it very cheap and still have the potatoes bar as the main course.
Were thinking of doing a taco and potato bar. And then having some chicken tenders and a green salad so everyone can get something they like but it still be very casual.

Then you know your crowd best. Do you think people there would find it odd to have a baked potato with toppings be your entree? I’m assuming they might not be thrilled with it otherwise you wouldn’t need to ask this question.
