Postponed

Our hands are tied - we have to postpone our April 5 wedding

Living in the NYC metro area - everything is locking down

My vendors are great, everything will just be rescheduled

But I'm super disappointed

Tears are being shed

I was looking forward to 2 things this spring - the NYC 1/2 marathon (cancelled) and my wedding

Erica - I feel your pain, and I'm in the same boat right now. Let's focus on the positives. If you postpone the wedding your venue may offer you more bang for your buck for the inconvenience - especially if you pick a week day. If you snoop around your honeymoon booking you can cancel what you have now and get a way better package for the price you paid at a later time. I know this doesn't mend the pain but God willing at the end it will all come together and be the most beautiful thing you've ever experienced. Focus on the marriage more than the wedding. Stay strong and in good spirits.

Erika, we are facing a similar dilemma our wedding is April 25, 2020 in New Jersey.

However, we are not planning on canceling or postponing at this time, I do not believe it is necessary. We will take precautions, unless something changes.

    You may be ok.

It's just that April 5 is in 3 weeks and things are getting worse before they get better.

Totally understandable. It's really unfortunate. This is the 2nd wedding FH have planned and both have gotten cancelled/interrupted in some way, shape or form. I just got laid off my job until further notice and we now have to cancel our big reception because we know we won't have the money to make payments like we need to. We will still continue on with our elopement/micro ceremony (30 max) and head to a restaurant or something afterward.
