Those of you who got married or will marry on their original date and will have the wedding celebration next year, how does that work? My FH and I had to postpone our wedding to May 2021 due to Covid, but would like to still get married on our original date 10/04/20. I'm just curious if we would also do the ceremony next year since we already married? Not sure how that works....

Hi! We did this.. Our elopement ceremony was on our original date of June 5th. We had postponed the big wedding (ceremony & reception) to Aug 28th. We just made the decision to postpone the date AGAIN to 3/19/2021.

I plan on doing the ceremony again in March. My dad was not present for the elopement ceremony, and I want him to walk me down the aisle in March. We also did not write our vows in June since we would like to do that for our March ceremony.

It feels good that we are already married. I highly recommend this option.

I'm using all my wedding decorations I had purchased for June in March next year. My Welcome sign, guest book, wedding favors, and cake topper all have June 5th wedding date.

Good Luck! Smiley heart Smiley ring

I'm going to wear my dress both this year and next year because in the end, that's the dress I chose to get married in, so I might as well actually get married in it! Also, who else gets to say they had the chance to wear their dream wedding dress twice? Smiley smile Who cares if everyone sees a picture of it on instagram before the big wedding? Any bride will tell you she wishes she could wear it again, so we are the lucky ones in my opinion.

I'm feeling better about it too! I was torn between a very intimate wedding and a biggish wedding in the beginning, before all this madness. But now I'm getting the best of both worlds. We definitely deserve this!

My husband and I had a small ceremony with just immediate family then had our videographer capture everything. We are planning our reception at a later date and are going to show our little wedding video at the beginning of the reception before we walk in so people feel part of it!

I just postponed ours from sept 19th to May. Since it’s a destination and I can’t get back any money from the venue I guess I will do wedding and reception then. Don’t know how to break the two up.. sigh
