Postcard Stamps

Marissa, on December 12, 2012 at 9:52 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 14

We are using postcards for our STDs. The post office only has 1 kind of postcard stamps - 'Aloha' themed stamps. Besides Zazzle.com, are there any other places I can order wedding-themed postcard stamps?

USPS's website has them- and I believe they have more than one design

I struggled so hard with this! The US Postal Service has ONE stamp for postcards, how dumb is that?? I asked multiple post office locations and got the same answer, besides spending more than a regular stamp and getting something custom that's the only way to go "aloha." So I sucked it up, since it saved me a few bucks. No one notices or cares anyway, but I noticed and hated every second of seeing those stupid hawaiian shirt stamps on my beautiful STD's!

@Rayychull! I don't like the fact that I might have to resort to the Aloha stamps! I find it a bit much to spend about $20 on a sheet of 20 custom postcard stamps on zazzle! That's about $1 each postcard to send out when it should only be $0.32! Ahhh!!

I know!!! The other option I thought about was just choosing a forever stamp. They have prettier designs and more to choose from and aren't too much more than the postcard stamp. In the end, I just did the postcard stamp. I was a little stubborn since I thought I was being so smart doing the postcard with cheaper postage Smiley winking

I was very frustrated with this too. The Aloha ones are definitely the only ones offered by USPS. They used to have herb ones, which were okay, but they no longer do. I refused to use the bright hawaiian shirt ones, they were just too gaudy for me. While I agree with Rayy_chull that most people don't actually notice stamps, I knew it would bother me forever. And I refused to pay the insane mark-up for zazzle, even though they had some cute ones. So we sucked it up and just bought the wedding forever stamps (45 cents) from USPS. We decided it was worth the extra $15 to send out 115 postcards, and have me not stressed about. So it really depends on if your budget has the flexibility and what's more importantto you - saving the money or having a stamp you like. Either way, I'm sure it will all be fine.

@Raychull, that was my thought too! Using postcards would be cheaper to send in the long run... lol Smiley smile @MG Designs, thanks, I'll be sure to check it out! @Bethany, Forever stamps are now going to be a likely option for stamps... but you're right, in the end it'll be just fine!!!

1/27/2013 is the next price increase. Post cards stamps will go up 1 cent but should also mean they are coming out with a new design.

Lol I was a little bummed when I had to use the aloha ones for my postcard RSVPs... but eh.. whatever.

As forthe STD, don't sweat it.. they'll probably have it all pinned against their refrigerators so i won't be the primary focus Smiley winking

Have you seen the new postcard stamps issued by USPS? They are now apples....not sure if this is really a better option that the aloha shirts....unless you have a fall/apple themed wedding...
