Postcard RSVP cards?

Holly Renee, on January 12, 2011 at 1:15 PM Posted in Planning 0 14

So, a few of you mentioned postcard RSVP cards in another thread. Sounds great to me! If you do postcard reply cards do you just enclose them with the invite? Do you make them separately? For instance, I am ordering my invites online (I think), the set I am ordering can come with an additional RSVP card and envelope (for more money), I am not against doing this but a postcard will likely be cheaper. Where do I make a postcard or order it? How do I make sure it matches? Ideas?

Call the online retailer, they should be able to get you images and quotes to go with so you can price them out.

The impression I got was that a postcard that matched the set was not available but I can definitely call and do some investigating.

Custom stationers can match your order also, if the original vendor does not offer postcards.

    $36.80 for 200 (1st 100 are free)

350 postcards from vistaprint.com costs $31.78 first 100 are free. - Print more, save more, so I guess pick the 250 and the 100 option.... weird....

They have a lot of samples, and one of the options is to upload your own picture or design. They charge a little to do that ($2?)

if you search "free postcards" in google they will give you a link to click to get to vistaprint.com to get the deal... or check out the other sites on google that offer you 100 free.

Any way you can use the reception cards that are available as postcards? or do they fold open? Do they sell something with that set that is just a flat paper and no envelope? And to answer your other question, yes, you would just put the postcard in with the invitation.

I have had some stationers tell me that postcards go more slowly than regular mail (which is part of why they are cheaper to mail) so make sure that you leave yourself enough time between the response deadline and when you actually need your final count.

You could also consider using insert cards, from your stationer, as a postcard response, as long as they can customize it to meet your needs.

Mine were enclosed and they were pretty plain - I figured since I was getting them back in the mail and no one was keeping them I'd keep them as simple as possible. Although I did eff up and not put a spot for them to decline. oops.

I would recommend ordering the invites and the post cards from the same vendor to make sure everything matches!

I did postcard RSVP I did not have people send them back in an envelope. I was thinking it defeated the whole idea of paying less for a stamp. I was lucky and had my invited designed (Thank you @goskell) They were a huge it. You don't as for much info. A name, yes or no and possibly a food choice. The only address on it is yours. They were great and everyone loved them! I did however do an inner envelope which really brought it all together.
