Post wedding/honeymoon blues

Lauren, on August 11, 2021 at 4:00 PM Posted in Married Life 0 10
We just got married in June, a smaller destination wedding in Florida with about 50 people, followed by a beautiful honeymoon in Mexico. Everything was great from start to finish, and we had such a great time with everyone. Since it's been over I've been so bummed (like most brides!). This huge event we spent almost a year planning flew by in a flash. What are some ways (or things) you did to stop feeling so bummed about it? Note: I am not actually depressed, or concerned about my mental health.....Just sad I don't get to wear my dress or have that party again lol

Did you receive your photographs back yet? If not you still have that to look forward too! You can also start creating a photo album if you want one!

I agree with the PP, you can also frame some for around the house.

Also how about getting overly dressed up and going on a date night? I know that always cheers me up!

They say getting involved in a new project helps. Home decorating, diy project, learning something new etc.....

Have you gone through to review all of your vendors/purchases? What about thank you cards to your friends/family? Putting together an album or a framed wall are great ideas as well! Smiley smile

I am sure I will feel the same way! This past year of planning has been so busy, I'm not going to know what to do with myself!

It was like coming off of a total high, or stepping out of a fairytale! Im still busy with other life stuff, but nothing near as exciting as getting married! Ordered my thank you cards and looking forward to pics to hang on wall and build albums.

No girl , it's actually common. I remember a few months back reading some bride saying she legit got depressed/sad after her wedding and others said they did too. I found it dumb at the time honestly because I believe I just didn't get it. How could you get depressed ? I have been planning my wedding for 3 years, so surely thought I would be more than glad that the planning was truly over. But maybe days after my last day w my family and guests started leaving it really did hit me that it was all over. I was sad and bummed lol. But I moved on to the next step like thank you cards and preparing our honeymoon in September (so something to look forward to) and just telling friends and family how I felt during that time lol. I loved writing reviews to help my vendors who made our day truly beautiful. And also looking forward to starting a family. Basically, things to look forward to.
