Post-wedding Weekend Ideas

Elizabeth, on July 25, 2019 at 5:20 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 8
Our ceremony and reception are on a Friday evening and our guests will be in town thru the weekend. What are some activities or events that you had after the wedding to relax with your guests and say thank you? I know breakfasts, brunches, and lunches are common, and am open to ideas for something different or theme ideas for said events. We're getting married in September and most of my ideas are dependent on weather. Who wants to pick apples in the rain? We're getting married in western New York.

The zoo is always fun with family, but that can be weather dependent too. Check out local events in your area, maybe there is a beer tasting or art event you could all do. Game night, museum tour, arcade..

Thank you for the suggestion! Some of our guests have kids-- they'll probably like the zoo!

I always see people do paint nites for bachelorettes. Maybe paint nite could be cool for yours? You can even do your own version of paint nite for cheaper with a YouTube video and store bought paints and canvases at the craft store

I’m not familiar with NY, but some of the things we are planning may work in your area too: a winery/distillery/brewery tour, an afternoon at the local theme park, and a local hike. FH is going to invite anyone who wants to go golfing with him, and I may look at places I can drop in for yoga or if we have enough interested do a private class. I also really want to get an old fashion picture with the bridal party- is that a thing out east or just in the west? Lol

The adults will enjoy a vineyard, beer tasting, or artwork. The kids are more of a challenge since there's quite an age range. What does a teenage boy do when none of the other kids are around his age and he's the only boy?

My part of NY has vineyards, craft brews, a theme park (weather is a factor and it doesn't have many rides for younger kids), and hikes are an idea (again, weather dependent). I'm probably thinking too much, lol. I don't want plans to get foiled because of weather. Theme parks are places to get old-fashioned pictures-- how old are we talking here?

My bachelorette is some of us playing tourist in Toronto and relaxing before a busy week. We're going sightseeing, dinner, and I'll be surprised with the rest. Thank you for the suggestion for another day tho!

We just have cutesy old western souvenir photo studios in most of the mountain towns in Colorado. We took this on one our anniversary. The studio we went to also does Victorian era set ups and costumes which could be fun next time.
