So FH and I wanted to get married on Feb 25. First date and two years later the day he proposed. We couldn't find a venue with that date or the 24 that we liked/afford. Thoughts?

I can sort of understand the number being meaningful. Just by some twist of fate FH and i met on June 22nd, started dating on May 22nd, and he proposed on April 22nd, we were aiming for Oct 22nd but the venue we love didn't have it open. we were bummed for about a millisecond. October 15th is the new date in this new chapter Smiley smile . . . don't commit fraud, or use anyone who would be willing to.

Have you checked with your city offices to see if you can do this? I consider the why you would do this your own business, but I'm wondering if it could cause legal complications for you later. I know someone that every time she needs to use her marriage license for legal things it gets questioned because the county she was married in did things in a manner that most anywhere else in the country wasn't familiar with.

I'm just concerned that doing something like this could cause your problems later on. I'd just concentrate on getting good advice on if this practice is legit.

Thanks again everyone. I didn't think about the legal aspect of it. I didn't look into it much it was just a suggestion from a friend and FH was kind of excited about the thought.

DH half joked about dating the license until after the new year to avoid the tax hit. Needless to say that didn't happen.

Celebrate your anniversary whenever you want. It doesn't have to be tied to the day you actually got married, and certainly not the date on the license.

Jennifer you are making quite the impression today. Nearly every time you post, you get flagged. Step away from the keyboard, lurk for a bit more, and settle down.
