Post-ceremony Dress Thoughts?

Futuremrsn, on February 1, 2020 at 6:43 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 5
Hi everyone! I’m considering purchasing a second dress, one that’s lighter, and overall easier to maneuver in once the ceremony is over. It’s inexpensive, and I think it might be cute to switch it up after a while to be more comfortable. What are bride-to-be opinions on a second dress?

    Hi Brittany,
Congratulations, I'm definitely getting a second dress, so much easier to dance in and to get around the reception greeting guests. My second dress is coming from jjshouse, style 105912, I'm wearing the lavender color, it's the same dress my bridesmaids will be in, but they will wear lilac, what are you wearing for your wedding dress, mine is from Stella York, style 6979, if you care to see it!! You'll be a gorgeous 👰 good luck!!!

What kind of dress do u have? When would you do the switch? Was your first dress expensive?

Personally i went feel like i only get 1 day to really wear my wedding dress and since its pretty expensive for 1 day use im gonna rock it that day (i cant justify in my own head spending so much money to wear an expensive dress for a 5-45 min ceremony only...but i went with an a-line cut, lightweight gown for easy movement and comfort for the whole day for that reason
Ive heard people say though that they wish they had a different one for dancing cause they wore a mermaid cut and its incredibly difficult to manuever an entire night in (walking, dancing, bathroom breaks...etc). Its very common to do 2 dresses, and (some cultures do it normally) nowadays though, so if u feel u truly need it i think its definitely an option. Id suggest finding the right time to do it (maybe half the time use ur 1st dress, then when u cant take it anymore switch to dress 2 or if dress 1 isnt such a big deal to u just switch before entering the reception) i know 1 woman who bough 4 dresses and tore then apart to make 2 dresses (1 ceremony, 1 reception!! Spent 26k on dresses and alterations, crazy!!)

If in a bride’s budget, I love the idea of a 2nd dress! For our DW, my hubby & I changed into pirate outfits for our reception. I also bought a second dress (less than $200) and had it turned into tea length for our local 50’s/60’s reception.

Do you have a pic of both dresses? Would love to see!

I think this is such a great idea if it's within your budget, Brittany. What is the second dress like? Do you have a pic?
