Poll: (kinda) Bride & groom speech...how long?

It will be short and sweet. 20 minutes it's crazy!

Thank you all for coming, we love you parents. We hope you have a great time. Done.

Ours was super short. We thank everyone for coming, gave an extra special thank you to my dad for officiating, and that was about it.

What could they possibly be talking about for 20+ minutes??

Seriously Rosa! Yea...2 minutes tops.

Rosa, they basically thanked each guest individually for coming...116 people. It was pretty ridiculous.

2 minutes - maybe up to five maximum. But to be honest the Bride and Groom's speech should be the shortest of the lot. We'll thank everyone for coming, make a little special mention of those who came from overseas, a little mention of my Dad. Thank our parents and sit.

We did not make a speech. We just went table to table thanking everyone for coming.

Ya we skipped that part. We went table to table and thanked all of our guests instead.

I have requested all speeches be 5 minutes maximum, preferably shorter. I tend to get bored during speeches.

60 sec tops, I hate speaking in front of crowds, but since we're only doing one speech I thought we should say something.

Funny enough, I was prepared to say thank you, and figured my dad's speech would be like 10 seconds... but he killed it, had everyone laughing... was the best speech of all time... so much so that I forgot to get up and say thank you.

A couple minutes, tops, just to get the "thank yous" mentioned. We told everyone to keep speeches short and sweet, 'cause some people have a tendency to go on and on (no joke, at a friend's wedding the best man spoke for so long that the groom got up from the head table, went to the bar, came back, and the best man still talked for another 15 minutes! That's just too much)

We didn't give any speech...we just walked around to our tables and guests and talked with them

I honestly didn't even think about us doing a thank you speech since I always figured we would go around and thank each table individually. However...as of late at ANY function we've been at whenever my SUPER quite, SUPER shy FH has a few drinks in him he wants to make speecheS, yes Speeches. I have no idea where it comes from but he just goes on and on at our Engagement party he started professing his love for me and how he cant wait to start our family and to have our 4 Kids (while holding up 3 fingers). I guess I should prep him a few weeks out of the wedding, he gets one speech and under 90 seconds!

20mins+ sounds crazy! Looks like you need to invest in the music that they play at the Academy Awards when the winner's speech goes on for too long.

I plan on thanking everyone, our parents, our bridal party, telling everyone to enjoy themselves and that's it! So maybe 30 seconds? What the hell were they talking about for 20 minutes?
