Police officers at your venue?!

Has anyone out there been required to have a police officer at their venue by the management? If so how was your experience?

Wow! I've never heard of that! We definitely don't have to...but there are 8 police officers in our families if there is a problem! haha.

We are required to have two security officers from an hour prior to the wedding until two hours after (during breakdown) at $35.00/per hour/per officer, $560.00 total. Definitely not an expense that we were expecting!

We are not required to have them but my FH as well as quite a few guest are LEO so I think we will be fine.

@Jessica I would talk to them about that it doesn't sound right. Usually PO have to be there only during the times there will be drinking. Sounds like they are nickle and diming you on that one.

We are getting married in a public park (Ault Park in Cincinnati) and all parks require a police officer and I actually like that they not only will be able to provide security from outsiders crashing but also just from the general public stumbling upon the pavilion and gawking!

Wow! really??? I never heard of this before. We are having alcohol as well, but the venue has never said anything about security.

The first venue we looked at did require off-duty police officers since alcohol was being served. I think it was one officer for every 100 people or so.

One venue I looked at required an off duty police officer if there was alcohol. I'm in N. AL.
