Hi! Since getting engaged in January of 2019, one of the things I knew I wanted at my wedding right from the beginning was a Polaroid/Instax station for guests! Not necessarily to be used as a guestbook (we will have a guestbook separate from this), but more for guests to hang their pictures on a wooden display with some jute and clothespins as a fun way to ensure some candid shots of our friends and family on our special day (picture below of this idea). The idea would be to display the final product in our home as decoration. I figured we could have the station at the entrance to our venue, so it's practically one of the first things our guests would see and they would (hopefully) be compelled to take a picture or 2 before heading in to the ceremony. After doing some research, however, I'm finding out that either this idea works 100%, or it doesn't work at all. The last thing I want is to spend money on something that will be a huge flop, especially since we have gone slightly over budget. I'm aware that the film is the most expensive part of this, and there's no guarantee we will get all of the photos taken as some people may keep them.
As I reaaaaallllly want this idea to work, I was thinking of having an attendant at this station to not only get the guests' attention as soon as they come in, but to ensure only a certain number of photos are taken per guest/group and that at least one of those photos is hung up. The attendant could change film when necessary as well, and this would eliminate the awkward feeling of "taking a selfie" for guests who would rather have someone take the picture for them. My question to the WW community is: is there such thing as "renting" an attendant for this? I know I could ask a family member or friend, but I honestly don't want to. Our wedding is in the Pismo/Central Coast area of California, and any recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Also open to hearing some other opinions as far as whether we should move forward with this idea or if it would be better to abandon it and put that focus (and money) elsewhere.
Your time is much appreciated! Xoxo
