I just watched Say Yes to the Dress and this was a special episode where Pnina Tornei has exclusive appointments with clients to custom design their gowns. The amount of money these women spent on dresses is just ludicrous to me! One bride spent over $200,000 on dresses for herself, her mother, and all bridesmaids! It's other brides spent $50,000 and $45,000 on their dresses! So Pnina made over $300,000 with just three appointments! I'm in the wrong profession lol. I wish I had that kind of money to spend. I don't even think I would spend that much on dresses even if I did have that kind of money. Sorry, just felt the urge to express my opinion lol.

I would be mortified wearing a sheer see through dress in front of my elders! I tried on a really cute (on the hanger it was) short white dress for my reception dress, but the huge keyhole in the front was way too revealing. My FSIL was like "ah..no." Her mother already doesn't approve of me, so that would make it even worse lol. ETA: spelling (damn autocorrect)

Also, that really common dress may be the one of entry level ones - price wise. I know people that prefer Vera Wang's ugliest cheapest dress to a nice, cheaper dress from a less known designer. To each their own.

Not only in front of elders, but I was worried about how I looked in front of my pastor. My dress really amped up the boobs with boning and I ended up taking it out because I really just couldn't stand the thought of them being out there in front of a man who's known me since childhood

Not all of her dresses are sheer. She has so beautiful pieces that are classy with stunning beading and lacework... but none that could ever afford. My entire wedding probably won't cost as much as one of her dresses.

I agree, not all of her dresses are sheer or made with cheap lace. I also hate that dress pictured above in the comments. And I definitely wouldn't spend 20k or more on a dress regardless of whether or not I had it. If money was no object, I probably wouldn't go over 8-10k

I really hate her gowns, I've never seen one I thought was pretty and they are very, very overpriced.

I wish I would have finished getting my degree in Fashion Design. Damn Moore for being so expensive!

    Yikes. That's just excessive spending.

The ones with the sheer panels always confused me. Like the first time I saw that I just assumed the sample was unfinished and they'd put opaque panels in. I'm not a prude or anything - I just think it looks terribly odd on a wedding dress.

Most of her dresses aren't my style, I don't get the see through bodice thing and I'm not really into over the top beading. But her dresses are incredibly well made, they are made with very expensive fabrics and crystals. There certainly is a price mark up because of the designer name, but there is also a high price because of the quality of the gown.

The quality of material may dictate the price, further proof that you cant buy good taste!

I watched that episode as well and I would have to agree with some of the PP that I am not all that wowed by her dresses. The mesh or see through corset dress is not for me either. While those brides look beautiful most to all of her dresses do nothing for me. If I had the money I could picture myself getting my dress custom made though it may not by her but it would by enzoani (idk if i spelled that right) but again to each its own...i guess!!
