Plus Sized and Taller than my FH... Engagement Photo shoot anxiety

I have my engagement photo shoot Sunday and I'm really stressing out, I am looking at pintrest for ideas of "good angles" for me and my FH. We are both on the heavy side and hes very shorter than me. All I see on here are skinny girls with tall guys. Anyone else a plus sized couple or have a FH...

Anyone else a plus sized couple or have a FH that's shorter than you? I would love to see your photos !

I am plus sized!! here is my engagement shoot post...

Also, I didn't like the sitting down pictures of me as much as the standing ones.

My FH is only about 2 inches taller than I am and in my bootie heels I was a little taller, the photographer suggested poses to even out our height. I also HATE my arms and he suggested where to put them and where to have my FH stand in order to make them look their best. If you hired a pro they really can help out with this. We also did a few where I was sitting down on something and he was standing to make the height even out. Don't stress this is a fun "practice" shoot for your wedding.

I'm plus size but my photographer did a great job of posing us and taking flattering pictures. Finding a photographer who you feel comfortable with and understands your concerns is crucial.

Definitely talk to your photographer before the shoot! Let them know your concerns about your height and about flattering angles for your body type. Let them know you are nervous and if you have a side/angle/pose you prefer to be photographed on and/or feel better about. Tell them they can get hands-on to pose you if needed, and also let them know they can get creative with their shooting methods if they feel like doing something a little more unusual. They are the pros and should be able to help you feel comfortable in front of the camera and have the mindset to give you the most beautiful photos of yourselves. Also, I'm plus size and I did NOT say any of this to my first photographer and was unhappy with our photos. We found a different photographer and I made sure to ask if she had experience with plus size brides and let her know all of my concerns and we LOVED those photos so it is REALLY important to communicate with them beforehand.

I'm plus sized as well and I thought I wouldn't have liked my engagement pictures but I absolutely loved them! You will too!

There was another really great similar thread about a month ago - that could be another source for inspiration if you search previous discussions. There were tons of shots.

Photogs are great with positioning. There are great ways to position you both to help any self consciousness you have. Mine did amazing. I added some of our photos for you to get an idea.

Trust your photographers instinct. They will know how to pose you to get a shot you're happy with. I'm almost 6in taller than FH and quite a bit bigger. Our photographer is fantastic and knew how to work our surroundings and how to have us stand. They turned out fantastic!

Try not to stress over this! This is something your photographer is going to be able to work with. Just try to have fun and the pictures will turn out great Smiley smile
