Plus size Brides: Sleeves or No Sleeves??

I've tried on gowns with thick straps and lace that would cover my back and some with sleeves, but I feel like they made my chubby arms even chubbier looking. I just want to know if others think sleeves draw more negative attention to the arms rather than strapless? I'm not afraid of strapless...

I'm not afraid of strapless gowns, but I also feel like I would lIke a little more coverage. I just don't want my arms to look like they're stuffed in a sleeve. And I don't really like the jackets or bolero's.

Any plus size brides having the same dilemma? Did you go with the sleeves or the strapless??

P.S. Curves are beautiful! Smiley smile

.. with that said though, i may get tiny pearl bra straps, because no matter how much i try, i cannot find a strapless bra that is worth a damn. I'm wearing my hair down so they probably wont be very visible anyways, and we can make it look like part of the dress.

Sleeves might sabotage you. when you're in for alterations just ask them to show you what a sleeve might look like. everyone's bodies are different

Nothing to add, but please change your avatar to something other than the rings! They are associated with spam/trolls, so it may help you get more responses and it makes the forum easier for the rest of us to navigate. Thanks!

My dress is strapless, but it has a bolero that matches which I doubt I'll wear.

I hear ya! I never wear sleeveless or strapless and would be totally uncomfortable. My dress is strapless and found this lace topper from Tulip Bride (online). It has a V in the back with a few covered buttons. Smiley smile Worth every penny. Best of luck!

My advice is to wear what you feel most beautiful in. Don't think sleeves are required for the curvy ladies. If you want full coverage I'd stay away from sweet heart necklines. Try a strapless that has a straight across neckline, it'll help contain the girls Smiley smile best of luck!!

Mine has thick straps and lace up to the back of the neck. I thought I wanted sleeves, but they all felt so baggy and frumpy when I tried them on. I still go back and forth wanting sleeves still though :/

My advice to you would to be to keep trying on dresses until you find the one. I’m a bigger size girl and I hate how huge my arms look in somethings plus im a DDD in front. But I tried on a corset strapless dress and I loved it. When you find the right dress you will know.

I'm having short sleeves added to mine. I'm not crazy about my arms and I feel like for my body having the extra fabric helps balance me out.

As a plus size bride I say covering the arms is better then not covering.

I wore the bolero that came with my dress all day. I am a very modest person so the strapless dress look is not for me

I have huge arms, and still went with strapless. I felt like sleeves just weren't me, and that it just didn't look like something I would ever wear. I also agree that sometimes sleeves can make your arms looks "stuffed". However, I do thing the off the shoulder sleeve look is so pretty!

It's whatever you feel most comfortable in. Personally I love the sleeved looked that is coming back in style. I'm doing sleeves to hid back fat myself.
