So what are you all doing?? I tried the stretch lace, as you walk it s-l-o-w-l-y falls down :\ Then, I tried a velvet one- it STAYED! Buuut, it's also made my chubby little leg look a little like a sausage Then, I tried the sating with chiffon on either side, and it slipped down, just not as...

So what are you all doing?? I tried the stretch lace, as you walk it s-l-o-w-l-y falls down :\ Then, I tried a velvet one- it STAYED! Buuut, it's also made my chubby little leg look a little like a sausage Smiley sad Then, I tried the sating with chiffon on either side, and it slipped down, just not as quick.... soooo, then I finally tried a plain satin one, and it was "ok", didn't slip that much, not as snug as the velvet, but I didn't look like a sausage, either. I guess I'm just turned off by the cliche'ness of it. It's the same ol same ol from the 19-- what?? I was hoping for something NEW, inventive, different. I bought the velvet one, hoping maybe I'd lose some weight, or with the whole thigh highs and stuff it would be that noticeable. Plus, it was on clearance!! Just seeing what everyone else is doing, if they're having this problem, and possibly get some new ideas Smiley smile

I'm running to the bathroom to put mine on before the garter toss.

That is why I do not want one. With my thighs, I thought it was best to skip the garter and toss. LOL

Considering that my thigh measurement is a common waist measurement, I think I'm just gonna pass on the garter.

The garter technically is supposed to be worn 3-5 inches above the knee, not on the actual thigh. I got mine on Etsy from BlessedWithAccents and it is perfect. Jaimie Winings the shop owner is an absolute pleasure to work with also. She made mine the day after I ordered it and it came the next week. The garters (I got one for myself and one for the toss) are high quality and stay put. I highly highly recommend her and she can do custom orders also

Not sure if this helps, but there are people on Etsy that can make custom ones. I bought a Green Bay Packers one from WelterCrafts, and it fits really well.

I did originally get a custom one. Took my measurements- which is yes, some's waist measurement... LOL And the stretch lace would start to slowlllllly slide down as you walk. Jessica, I did wear at the proper measurement. 1. It still slide. And 2. it still made my chubby little legs look like sausages... LOL

I made mine tonight because I was seriously stressing this detail. Found some stretchy knit lace and some sparkly purple elastic at walmart tacked one to the other being sure to stretch it as I went so that the thread didn't hinder the stretch, sewed on a feather broach (gunna put a pretty embellishment in the middle) and voila! This is it! Will be wearing mine just about the knee and the throw away on my calf.
