Are there any simple brides out there? I purchased my Casablanca a few weeks ago with just under a year before my wedding. I really love it on me, it is beautiful in its own way, but I feel like it doesn't compare to all the lavish gowns I see out there. Example: I went to a sample sale yesterday to see if I could find my junior bridesmaid a dress, and while shopping for her my eyes were all over the place checking out the other brides-to-be trying on dresses. The way the sample sale was set up there were no dressing rooms, not for the modest, so I couldn't help but see all the beautiful girls and their dresses. I LOVE satin, I love the way some of the form fitting dresses looked on some of the girls. And here's me with a simple (but traditional A-line with train) organza dress, clean lines, completely plain throughout except for some minor detail in the bust and train, with Swarovski crystal buttons all the way down the back to the train. I saw my dress at the sample sale cont

Mine was simple. The only bling was along the top and my one shoulder. Here are a few photos.

Honey, I'm used to runway styles that are so over the top your jaw would drop. feathers, bling that makes the dress weigh 50 pounds, you name it! I don't think your dress is plain at all! its a straight line design with well placed embellishments! I love it the way it is! I don't think it even needs a belt!

you made a excellent choice! show us some pictures of you in the dress!

one reason why I labored over my choice so much was because the over the top styles are what I'm used to making and wearing- I never thought in a million years I wouldn't feel like a bride in them :/ I guess in the end I just needed something different for my special day - but made out of the fabrics and embellishments I loved Smiley smile

I'll save the really blinged out stuff for the red carpet! Smiley winking

I think your dress is gorgeous. And agree with the other ladies who said "STOP looking and comparing." you will be gorgeous in your dress! Etsy has some great belts that will give you a bit of the pizazz i think you are craving.

Mine is simple and I absolutely love it!

"From here on in I am never going to look at another wedding dress again ."

good idea. advice I should have followed Smiley smile

but in the circles i travel, it wasn't totally possible. I did stay away from magazines once the dress I wore was started. Smiley smile

I'm having my delayed bridal portraits taken in a few weeks and I'm considering making yet another dress for a wardrobe change for the pictures! lol but then, that's me. I'll never change Smiley smile

All lace, clean lines, no beading or appliques.

If you love your gown, stop shopping! I bought my gown in April 2012, not a single regret!

I had the opposite reaction as you. I bought the fancy dress and ended up (my fittings have made me nervous) buying a back up dress that is simple...the simple dress feels so much more like me....seriously I stood there and looked in the mirror and breathed and was like wow...this is what a good dress feels like. But I am excited to wear the other dress if it works out.

Everyone has their own style and taste. Your dress is beautiful. I don't care for the very ornate dresses. I think the classics are best.

Mine is stupid simple. It is actually a skirt and top separate. That way I can use them separately later on in life. My waistband is elastic (my mom didn't want to put it in, but it was something I really wanted). I have beads outlining my boobs, and lace on the bottom, but thats it. your dress is beautiful! Have no regrets!

My dress is lace and tulle with no beading. I think it's fairly simple. My second choice was very similar, but a little more fussy. I'm glad I went with the simpler dress in the end. However, I want to add a very thin gold sash, just to give it a little something extra.

Your dress is gorgeous @Rhonda!! I don't think it is too simple (compared to some other dresses posted here). It looks like a "bridal gown". And for $941, no dress is simple. Beading isn't for everyone.

I myself do like a little sparkle so I chose a dress with beading on the train, but there's no beading on the dress. Since I'm wearing a jacket for my ceremony I thought a "simple" neckline would be best for me. I did try on a gown that had a lot of beading, even though I loved it I felt it didn't have that "bride" effect", plus considering my jacket situation, going with simple vs. beaded (which would be covered up) was best. Smiley smile

So many beautiful wedding dresses here.

I'm going crazy trying to find the dang thing.

I've found a lot of similar dresses, but not that one I want.

@Kelly that dress is exquisite! It has some simplicity with detail, that seems to be my style. But I dunno for $7,000??!! My opinion is it is not worth it with so many beautiful dresses out there in a more reasonable price range.

@Nicole, a/k/a self-described "Tom-boy" - I think I'm loving your dress the most, although. Ok, ok, I like simple. Geesh it took me a while to come to terms with that for some reason. I guess it is because when do you ever get to wear a wedding dress right? This thread helped me embrace my inner simplicity! Haha.

@StitchingBride you have my dream job. Also, when I am a guest at a wedding I buy 5 dresses and can't decide until the day of. I am screwy like that with clothes/fashion. I don't know where it comes from. It isn't my career, I've never had nice clothes when I was a kid growing up (maybe that is why I love clothes so much). Another thing, I have been told I have an "eye" for good quality fashion by a seamstress before and do love fabrics. That is what is driving me crazy about my wedding dress that I have chosen!! It is organza, and I didn't want organza, but I love the way it fits and I love the simplicity with details in certain places. The funny thing is you should have seen me in the dressing room on the second time putting it on pulling up the organza to see the material underneath (as if I were some expert haha, not) scheming to tear out the organza and keep the satin underneath. I don't think it will work though because of the detail in the train.

My dress was incredibly simple. To me, less is more. Plus, it gives you more room to accessorize! I paired my all lace dress with pearls for the ceremony, and added a belt and drop earring for the reception to give it some oomph for the party!

Your dress is gorgeous! Don't feel bad!
