Plastic Cutlery

One of my colors is rose gold. I love the color so much I have decided to to change charger plates by spray painting them rose gold. However, I'm not sure if silverware would look good or clash with the chargers. Would it be tacky to use plastic rose gold cutlery? I did find real rose gold utensils...

I did find real rose gold utensils but it's really expensive.

I used Pledge Floor Care Finish (not Cleaner). I had already spray painted all of my centerpieces gold and discovered after you can't spray a clear finish. Even after a week of curing, the gold still came of on my hands. Paint the item, let it cure for a week, then brush on the Pledge, You will see bubbles but don't worry, they will dissipate. Are you having the issue with paint rubbing off the charger you painted?

ust keep in mind that I only had to do 10 centerpieces and 8 picture frames and it was a lot of work. Are you sure you want to go to all this trouble for a charger that people will see for 5 minutes? how are you going to get them all to the venue? Not trying to discourage you, just hoping you don't bite off more than you can chew for not a lot of impact. You may want to think of adding rose gold to your centerpieces, napkin rings, candles, etc. that might be easier.

I attached some pictures where I used gold as accents. Also, my dress was pink with gold overlay and for the reception, I had rose gold converse. My engagement ring is rose gold and so are our wedding rings so I understand your passion for rose gold!

@firstonat56 you did a great job! No, I haven't had an issue with the paint rubbing off. I will try to rub some off of my test charger and see how that goes. I've painted a few things before and never had any issues....my decorator also recommended it.....she's really good and has tons of experience. When the time cones, I'm going to box them up and place a foam divider between each plate and hopefully that will keep them from scratching. I have about a year so I'll just take my time doing a few each week. I have a planner and a decorator so hopefully things will go ok. Of course I want things to look great but at the end of the day it's mostly about what we are happy about. I have enough time to change and do something else if this project isn't a success Smiley smile.

As a guest I personally wouldn't care if you used plastic silverware.
