Figure out your budget and a rough draft of your guest list. Then decide what season or month you want to get married in. Next you'll find a venue that fits those three things. Once you have a venue, you can work on other vendors like photography and catering. The checklist here on WeddingWire is super helpful.

I would start with picking a venue! Once you have that settled, you can pick a date, and from there everything more or less falls into place! Of course you also need to discuss how much you want to spend- I would make sure the venue is within your means, even if someone else has offered to pay. Families can go a little crazy with weddings.

Thank you so much so we have a date which is 06/21/2021. I'm doing a summer wedding and I found my venue I guess I just feel more of so overwhelmed.

I was overwhelmed too when I started! What helped me and my FH was a physical checklist- we have a shopping list pad we normally use, so I scratched out shopping and wrote wedding lol. We listed out everything we needed to get reserved and planned, then started going down our list. Take it in chunks - review photographers, start looking at dress options. Everything will come together if you just take it one piece at a time.

If you have your venue, now finalize your guest list, and start looking for food/drinks catering, DJ, florist and photography. Not necessarily in that order - catering and photographer might be more urgent as things get booked quickly. Make a list (tons of wedding checklists online or in wedding planning books, I believe there’s even one on this website) and go one by one.
