It really hasn’t been stressful. We discussed our priorities early on and ensured we were on the same page. We had almost everything booked by August 2020 for our October 2021 wedding. At this point, it’s just minor things and that things that cannot be done too soon like sending invitations.

I feel like planning is going, but I still have a lot to do! I've been doing all the planning and researching. Once I narrow things down, like ideas and vendors I tell him about them and ask if he's okay with it.

The most stressful was in the beginning trying to figure out exactly how to work in different ceremonies, have it all in one day, one weekend, what venue we wanted. I think we did like 10 different venue tours and he was like very over it!

We had arguments about that, but those are now decided on the planning hasn't been so bad. The one thing he comments about that annoys me, is how much we are spending. In the beginning I asked him what he thinks our budget should be and he never set one. So I agreed not to put an actual number on our budget because we didn't want to limit ourselves on what we can and cannot do, we just have to be reasonable about it pricing.

We haven't read any books but there are some ads I see about marriage books I've been thinking about getting. We will be getting married in a Catholic church, so we will have some pre-martial classes that are mandatory to attend. I'm kind of excited about it, because I've always wanted to do something like that to make our relationship stronger.

Best of luck to you and happy planning! Smiley smile

I went to tour a venue on Saturday, the only venue we had seen, we ended up falling in love and I emailed them to book today.

Everyone keeps asking me if I'm freaking out now, but honestly I feel so at ease, our wedding isn't going to be until September 2022, so I have sometime for a freak out or stress to appear. Thanks to Pintrest I know exactly what I want for center pieces, flowers and décor. I know what our guest book is going to be, and our venue includes pretty much everything I just need a DJ, Dress and Photographer.

I think I'm just so at ease knowing I get to marry my best friend.

Surprisingly, this whole process has been super stress free so far, and that's including having to reschedule our date/vendors due to covid restrictions and cutting our guets by well over half (we now have around 15 people total). I think what's helped keep this going so smoothly is that we both focus more on the marriage than on our wedding. Putting that into prospective has kept both of us from freaking out about menial things such as having all colors be the exact shade and what not. Here's to a happy time planning your wedding too!

We have the majority of things done. Have our last appointment with the venue to give final headcount & decorations, the DJ & the photographer in March. The biggest thing left that we have to tackle is the music list. I’m getting more stressed out as the days go by & little things are starting to irritate me. Thank my lucky stars that he doesn’t argue, just patiently waits & listens as I pull my hair out!

The only thing that has been stressful is just the unknowns of covid. We just finished up premarital counseling which has actually been fun for us. We really don’t have a lot to go. We took a small break from wedding planning wine have been doing honeymoon planning.

Hi how are you doing with your planning? -I'm doing well.
Are you getting stressed? -not anymore since I deactivated pintrest and stopped watching wedding or bridal reality shows.
Are you having disagreements? -not really. Especially with COVID our options are limited.

How are handling things? -fairly well for the most part.
Are you reading books about marriage? No, but I listen to Dave Ramsey, and we go to couple's therapy.

Planning is going great for us so far, we're about 6 months out & we've basically agreed on everything. I'm starting to think something is wrong since it's gone so smoothly lmao

We haven't read books on marriage, but have done couples devotionals & have had extensive conversations about what's to be expected once we do marry. We're both on the same page about pretty much everything.

Planning so far is going well. Has been keeping me busy for sure. We have had only two disagreements but otherwise we are on the same page about many things. We aren't reading any wedding books or anything like that. I have a small wedding planning break coming up after this week is over. I think it is absolutely necessary for my sanity, peace, and overall mental health. I schedule wedding planning breaks every few weeks or so. Sometimes all I need is a day, sometimes a few.
