Planning on getting a used treadmill

Nicole, on December 10, 2019 at 12:29 PM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 7

Hey guys, my wedding is in the next six months, that is, June of next year. And I really want to be in shape, so I fit in my dress perfectly. I've been planning on buying a treadmill for a while, but buying a brand new machine is a no-no because I'm saving some cash for my wedding. So I started looking for alternatives and found a post that talks about used fitness equipment. I'm going to save a ton of cash buying a used treadmill, but I'm still in doubt if that's what I should purchase, or pay a premium for a brand new treadmill. Has anyone purchased a used machine before?

If there's a planet fitness around you it'd probably be cheaper just to buy a gym membership

My husband purchased a used exercise bike last year, and he loves it. We did a ton of research and waited 3 or so months until we found the right one, but it's worked super well and he rides around 30 miles a week.

Just be careful! I started working out and gained muscle and now cant fit into my gown. No matter what, make sure your diet is on point and you know what your body likes. The workout I was doing is supposed to lean and tone. That doesn't mean you wont develop underdeveloped muscles such as pecks or abs. This is just a friendly warning lol

I agree with PP above. I would take that money and use it for a Planet Fitness if you have one bar you. It’s inexpensive and you will be able to get a full body workout.

Agreeing with PPs above. A few different gym chains offer memberships for $10/month and most others are around $25/month. If you ever have to move a treadmill in the future it will be expensive and difficult. Planet Fitness has TVs on every piece of cardio equipment or you could just bring a phone/tablet and watch your own show while running/walking/etc.

I bought a used elliptical from facebook marketplace and it works great. Just test it out and do research still on reviews of the model!

I agree with this!! I was going to start some insane wedding workout but I also think that I am in shape enough and my dress fit me for the most part so just either start off slow and don't do anything too intense that may altar how you fit into your dress or if you already have a routine, stick with that and just be aware of what you should and shouldn't eat. For me, cutting alcohol is going to be the plan so no more red wine during the week. I"ll save for Friday's and weekend. I've been cheating a lot with dairy too even though I'm Lactose Intolerant and that adds some bloat. And definitely just drink a ton of water and if you can walk somewhere, walk and don't drive!
