Hey everyone. So I am currently trying to plan my best friends bachelorette party. I am her MOH for her wedding this October and she is mine for my wedding next June (2019). It is stressing me out so badly! She wants to go to Ocean City Maryland the first weekend in August which is prime vacation time and most places are booked already. Only 3 out of the 5 girls can go and most houses are very expensive which would make the stay $200+ a person. That doesn’t include any outings or food. I am also saving for my own wedding and house so my budget is very tight. This entire process is just really stressing me out and making it hard to focus at all on my own things. I need advice 😔

Incidentally, my MOH is planning my bachelorette as a weekend trip. I'm excited about it! But I made a point to tell her that if it gets to be too much, or too expensive, to not be afraid to let me know and we can do something else. Since you're MOH, I have to assume that you are good enough friends that she would not want you to overly stress over things and would also be willing to accommodate based on your ability to do these things.

Destination bachelorette party’s are cool and all but not practical for most people. I didn’t want one. Many of my friends/bridesmaids have kids and probably would have chosen not to come (understandably). I would definitely do as others have said and price out something more local to propose as an alternative.

You've already gotten the advice to talk to her about the budget because $200/person is steep especially when you're saving for your own wedding. Hopefully she understands that it's just over budget.
