Placement of rsvp instructions on invite

Danielle, on July 31, 2017 at 4:37 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 11

We are doing online, text, or call invites only. No option to reply by mail. My plan was to add the instructions to rsvp on the back of the invite.....something along the lines of "please rsvp through our wedding website (link) or if you prefer you may text or call Danielle at (phone number)" . I'm nervous though because some people mentioned they didn't know we had a wedding website and I had listed that on the back of the std. if they missed that info when it was on the back will they be confused and miss the rsvp instructions?

I wouldn't do it on the back of the invitation. It is not commonly used to convey information so many people won't turn them over.

I also think the wording is excessive for the bottom of the invitation.

I would include it on a separate details card, or on a separate reception card.

I should add that my goal was to only use one item of paper. Our reception and ceremony are in the same location.

The "seal and send" invitations on InvitationsByDawn have lots of room to do this.

It shows you a template and you can change the wording, so I took out the RSVP/meal choices and added info about RSVP-ing and picking their meal on our website (with link). There was also room to put hotel info. It didn't look crowded at all because of the layout of these invitations.

ETA: It's all on one "sheet", no extra inserts

ETA2: Actually I put the hotel info where the RSVP info typically goes, and put the RSVP info underneath the "Reception to follow" because I didn't need all that space to put reception info when the reception is at the same place as the ceremony

I do not recommend the back either. Either do a separate card or squeeze it on the front!

I tried to do what you're wanting to do, and all the advise I got was to just put it on a separate card so it wasn't missed. We're doing all electronic RSVPs too

It folds up so you don't need an envelope either. It's different and pretty cool so I like it!

After you change the wording on the front, you can add your return address on the back. For the back flap, I wrote our return address. And for the back of the RSVP "card" (they want you to put your return address here too), I just wrote "for more information, please visit our website" with link.

The link is on the front as well so if they miss this, it doesn't matter. But the way it's folded, they'll see it when they're opening it. Look it up and you'll see what I mean. I really like them!

You should include insert cards with all the RSVP information.

If you want to save the cost of printing another card for R.S.V.P. info, I don't see will you can't put that information at the very bottom of your invitation; something like:

    R.S.V.P at www.myweddingURL.com

Thanks @jan. I'm definitely leaning towards something like that.

Print business cards and stick those in as well with the website. I'm planning to use a smaller card with my invites for this same reason.
