Placement of fans for outdoor ceremony

Amy, on July 14, 2019 at 2:26 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 15
Hi everyone! I want to do some paper fans...maybe the personalized ones that are on a wooden stick that just have our names, date, and welcome to our wedding. Anyway we are having about 90 people which isn't a whole lot. I was thinking it would be plenty fo get 45 and place them every other seat...that way there aren't too many flailing around out there distracting people and really...if you are.fanning yourself you are going to.probably reach the person next to you.

My fiance does not agree and wants every seat to have one. I think we only need every other. What do u think????

Lol. Also we wanted to have bubbles for people to blow as we exit, and I thought we could just do the first two.seats on either side. Your advice is so valuable!!!! Thank youSmiley smile

I personally think it'd be best to do one on every seat so that everyone could fan themselves. Especially if you have any younger kids, you can be sure they'll be fighting over the fans and bubbles.

Good thought! We wont have any kids there, maybe or two possibly. Do you think we will need bubbles on every seat since it's more of an exit thing? Just want to double check what you mean. Thanks!!

If it's in your budget, I would also do bubbles on every seat. One thing to consider with bubbles though, is that you may want them separate from wherever the seating is and closer to the exit as bubbles tend to leak or could be blown early.

I'd probably do every seat for both.

There isn't really a exit area, it would be for as we walk down the aisle after we get married. The guests will still be in their seats clapping or standing or whatever it is they do at that time. Its a outdoor ceremony so we aren't exiting a building or anything. Good point about the bubbles leaking. I was thinking maybe they could be in a basket and I could have someone hand them out right before the ceremony and have the officiant announce when to use them

I think you should do fans on every seat or put fans in a basket for guests to grab as they’re walking in. Same for the bubbles.

Oh okay! Then I think with the chairs is fine. I thought you meant it was an exit after the reception.

Definitely every seat. You’re having an outdoor ceremony in July, residual gusts of air from the person next to them isn’t going to be enough to keep the rest of the guests cool.

I agree with this. Then they can get one if they want one and if they don’t they won’t have to grab one.

I have been to a few outdoor wedding ceremonies in July (Michigan) and while it's warm I never thought I needed a fan. I mean, it's not the whole reception and everything just about a 30 min ceremony. I wanted to do fans because it is a nice gesture. I like the basket idea!!!!

If you can afford the fans get one for everyone. It is only fair after all. Leave them on the seat. Get Bubbles for Everyone also, tie the tiny vial to the fan and let people have at it!

I would put the fans and the bubbles in baskets before they walk in and have everyone grab their own. I would make sure there are enough for everyone to get one even though you will have leftovers (if it’s in your budget).

You can find fans relatively cheap or make them yourself. Check out bestpricefavor.com. It’s where I’m looking for some of my favors.
