Placement cards

Heather, on June 2, 2019 at 9:25 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 20
What are you all doing for placement cards?
I was going to just have a list typed and put it frames. Like table 1 and all the names.
But literally the only thing my husband to be is asking for, is placement cards. He doesn’t like the idea.

Our venue is a ballroom. and it will be a Christmas / winter themed wedding.
Idk if any of that matters. But I could really use some suggestions.

We are probably going to do something like this and they will displayed alphabetically on a table right outside the ballroom where cocktail hour is being held so people can grab their grabs and will have plenty of time to do so during the hour or so.

Personally I'm not doing place cards, I'm just having a giant find your seat chart.
But if you're insistent on place cards, I've seen some people make it as part of their party favors.

We did escort cards because we had a plated meal.

    We already have our favors.
I wanted a big chart but this is the only thing my fiancé is asking me to do. I hope he’s ready to make alll these cards.

Regular escort cards would probably be easiest and cheapest.

I went to a December wedding where they did simple ornaments with everyone’s name on them as place cards/favors. I thought that was super cute!

You can do a seating chart (or may of the table layout) and do escort cards. We're going to attach our favor to the card, but we may do a map too, since we'll be doing table names instead of numbers.

We are doing escort cards. My aunt has beautiful handwriting/calligraphy but we are only having her make one per couple to cut down on number needed to be made. I’ve seen people print them on card stock too which sounds fairly easy

We did escort cards - I found them on Amazon, we picked the font and sizes we liked, and we printed them at home. It was easy, relatively inexpensive, they looked just how we wanted them to look - and (best of all) when we needed to make a few last minute table changes, we just had to throw the old ones away and make a couple new ones, which was easy

We are not doing individual placement cards. We are doing table assignments. We have a large seating chart and a sign on the table with the list of names as well. We figured it would be easier to allow people to pick their own seats at each table rather than trying to figure out who would want to sit next to whom Smiley smile

We are using shot glasses that will have flags coming out of them with the guest name and table number. The shot glasses will also act as our favor for guests.

We went with 'escort cards' that were also our favors.

We the doing personalized notes for every guest inside a really unique envelope. It will be a ton of work but we have 4 months to get it together so we’re good. People will be touched by it we hope Smiley smile

My mom is making the placement cards for my wedding and we are having our setup crew place them where they are supposed to sit at each table. I'm also a seating chart board on an easel that will be listed alphabetically by last name with the table number after the name. That way it is more efficient and easier on guests to find their seats.

We did a seating chart AND placecards. H honestly thought it was dumb that I did both, and not just escort cards, but I really didn't care, I was obsessed with an acrylic seating chart AND marble placecards. Here are ours:

    Placement cards 3

    Placement cards 4

    Ideas for Christmas/ Winter:

pinecone and card (can spray paint or not)

    Placement cards 5

    ornament and card

    Placement cards 6

    pine and tag

    Placement cards 7

Just a winter card! (liek this: https://www.etsy.com/listing/658422211/pine-place-card-template-printable)

Our theme is rustic woods. I bought these and little log holders and we're going to print out cards to put in them. I found business card stock that is already perforated so it will be easy to print and detach. Plus these log holders can be reused as photo holders or whatever people want to use them for.

We are doing what Vanessa is doing. The lady who did our invitations is making our placement cards to look similar to our invites. They will be placed on a table alphabetically and guests can find their names. Their name card will have their name, table number, and what plated dinner they are getting!
