Place for my son in the wedding

Nicole, on March 8, 2024 at 9:37 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 15
I have been a single mom all of my adult life. My son is now 18 and I’ll be getting married. I am trying to decide the best place for him in the wedding so that I can make him know he’s an important part of it. I’ve narrowed it down to 3 possibilities…
1) have him and my father walk me down the aisle
2) have him be a brides-man up there with me 3) have him be a groomsman to my husband to be along with his sonI am also wanting to incorporate a sand union aspect of the ceremony to include both boys as well. What sounds like it would be the best? I short my son and he basically said where ever I want him to be he will gladly go.

I would do #3 along with #1 if having him walk with you down the aisle wouid be meaningful to you. I like the idea of him being a groomman, not for sexist reasons, but to symbolize that despite his age you are all becoming family.

I am/was a single parent before I got married as well. My son was 18 as well and I wanted him to be a part of our wedding. So we had him as a groomsmen in our wedding.

Have him walk you down the aisle or stand on your side.

What's your son's preference? Does he have one?

I'd have him walk you down the aisle or stand on your side. However, I think any of the options are meaningful!

I love the idea of having him walk down the aisle with you! It would be really cute and meaningful, and he could stay up there during the ceremony (as a "bridesman") or a groomsman

I know it's corny but do whatever you want. He is open to whatever. If he is a groomsmen he can make a connection with the other brother.
But my father is passed,so my son will be giving me away. Then he will go stand beside the groomsmen.
    Good luck happy planning 💜

Have him along with your father split the walk one of them walk you half way to meet the other and the other finish the walk.

Why not make him the man of honor. He could be a huge part of your day. He would also be signing the marriage license too, which may make him feel more important.
