Hello! Hello! This may be a stupid question, but I am looking into place cards for our wedding on June 26th and being that I don't know who is coming yet (invitations go out this month), do I order them blank and then write them in as people rsvp (although it wouldn't look as nice/neat) or do I wait for people to rsvp and then order the place cards with the names already printed? Or do I order place cards with everyones name on them from the whole guest list whether they're coming or not and then only put out the ones of the people who are coming? Although, that would be a waste of money. I'm definitely overthinking lol, but just making sure everything is perfect and I am on top of things. Thank you!

I also wanted to ask, do venues usually also have you provide the numbers to be place on each table?? Or do they usually provide the numbers to label the tables?

I used the Avery cards as well-super easy. Also, are you asking about escort cards or place cards? Escort cards are usually arranged on a table in alphabetical order and show the guests to their table, and if there are not assigned seats, they choose their seat at the table. A place card is at the table and shows the exact seat the individual is to sit in. You can have both or just escort cards (or a seating chart and place cards).

Wow! Great idea. We aren't using "number" for the tables - beach wedding so going with beach critters instead. This will be perfect to match the picture on the tables.

Are all of your guests eating the same meal? If not, a seating chart will only be helpful in directing your guests yo their table. But it won’t be helpful in designating what meal each guest selected once they’re sitting at their table. Place cards assist with indicating various meal choices, usually with some type of small colored sticker or symbol in the corner of the card. Also, if you don’t have nice handwriting, have them arrive printed or print them yourself from your computer.

Blank cardstock on Etsy pre folded write the on the outside and assignment inside 35c each. Pick one color per entree option and give that color chart to your caterer.

Someone in your group has nice handwriting. So make a fun party out of it.

I would wait to do the placements until you get the RSVP‘s back from your guest that’s what I did because it will save you a whole lot of money. About the numbers for the tables I would definitely ask your venue my den you specifically told me that they were provided however I have made my own that I will be using on my tables.

Wait until you get all of your RSVPs back (2-3 weeks before - your caterer will tell you when they need final numbers by) and then order. We're doing a plated meal, so we're doing place cards for each guest or couple with their table number on the front. You can also add their meal choice if you're giving them the option when they RSVP. If you're doing a buffet, you could get away with a seating chart, but that'll cause some crowding when it's time for everyone to sit down and guests may forget their number by the time they reach the tables!

Michael's sells blank ones pretty cheap and has templates to download to type them up yourself and print at home!
